All this is usually placed on an area of one square meter. The height of the hamam structure depends on the shape of the ceiling. The domed view provides for at least 2, 5-2, 7 m in height. This is not only an oriental style, but also a technological technique for steam circulation, preventing the formation of drops overhead. Excess moisture always flows down the walls to the floor. The vaulted and arched structure requires less costs, which are similar in functionality to the dome, but reduce the internal space by 15-20 cm.
Ventilation
An important point is ventilation. Given the high humidity (it reaches 100%), a high-quality air exchange system is needed, with a regular full cleaning every 10 minutes. Due to the large condensation, it is unacceptable to connect to the ventilation cycle of an apartment or house. An isolated system is required for dehumidification of the air, with subsequent exit to the central unit. For this, a control valve is installed, permanently open at the point of air intake.
Humidity
In the Turkish bath, the comfort of stay is carried out due to the balance of temperature and humidity. This is due to the uniform heating of the inner surfaces and the air. To achieve this effect, independent electric heaters and steam generators are used. Hot water piping is required for heating surfaces. Several contours of pipes made of metal-plastic are laid under the walls, seats, and the floor. The operating mode is maintained within +30. For bath procedures designed for 5-6 hours, +45 is pre-set, for 1, 5-2 hours.
The power of the steam generator is selected based on the size of the room. A prerequisite is the presence of a temperature sensor that regulates the flow of steam when the humidity drops to 55%. Installation is carried out in a technical room, and the sensor and control panel should be installed directly in the steam room at the entrance. The temperature setting unit and lighting switches are also attached here. The place where the steam generator is connected to water supply and electricity excludes the possibility of contact with water.
Materials for building a hamam
The crucial moment is the choice of materials. They must be moisture resistant and have good thermal insulation properties. Upon completion of the construction and final finishing of the walls, their thickness should be at least 70 cm, the best option is 100 cm. A prerequisite for construction is hydro and thermal insulation, the presence of heating, frame reinforcement, leveling screed and plaster, finishing materials. To ensure heat transfer, a glue-based insulation or iron reinforcement is used. Such requirements are intended not only for the construction of walls, but also for seats, couches, floors.
You can use a less time consuming method - foam panels with the same qualities. The big plus is the addition of soundproofing. This material allows you to reduce finishing costs. From it, in addition to the walls, you can build a dome, curved benches. It is lightweight, does not require a frame, accelerates air heating, reduces the load on the floors. It is especially appreciated that when using it, the construction time is reduced.
