Historically, people love moderately spicy dishes, the same ketchup, adjika, horseradish. In addition, many people just like bitter peppers, especially the bite with freshly boiled borscht.

In summer, there is no problem with the presence of pepper, but in winter it is a problem to find pepper, firstly, it can be bought mainly only in large supermarkets, and secondly, its price is high at this time. But for lovers of this product there is a way out - you can grow a pepper bush on the windowsill in the kitchen.

By the way, due to the fact that many varieties of pepper have a decorative color, for example, on one bush there can be fruits of different colors at the same time: green, salad, purple, yellow, orange and red. These varieties include Aladdin, Fireworks, Tonus and many others, just choose the one that you like best visually, since most often the peppers differ only in their pungency.

When to plant?

You determine the timing of planting indoor peppers yourself, but you need to take into account the fact that the first crop can be harvested only 2-3 months after planting. That is, if you want to get a harvest in November, then you need to start planting seeds in the near future.

In general, August is the optimal time for planting "indoor" peppers, since the period of its fruiting will just happen at the time when there will be no street pepper, that is, in this way, we will replace garden peppers with indoor peppers.

Preparing for landing

Preparing for planting is a simple process. We take a pot with a diameter of about 20 centimeters, pour drainage at the bottom. As drainage, you can use pebbles, foam broken into small pieces, or special commercially available filler. On top of the drainage (by the way, its layer should be about 2 centimeters), we fill it with special soil purchased in the store.

Let's dwell a little more on the ground. Of course, you can do it very simply: go and collect land from the garden (garden, summer cottage, personal plot) into a container. However, there will be very little sense from planting in such land, there is a lot of fuss, and there is practically no harvest. This will happen due to the fact that fruiting plants require a certain amount of nutrients, and in the land that you bring from the street, the supply will very quickly be depleted, and there is nowhere to wait for replenishment. You will need to constantly feed with fertilizers.

But not everything is so bad, you can use garden soil, just mix it with peat first! Then the supply of nutrients will be enough for a longer time and during the fruiting period it will be enough to carry out 1 top dressing once a month or two.

The preparation for planting has been completed, now we proceed directly to the process itself.

Landing

There is nothing difficult in planting the seeds itself. Take the seeds you like, make 1-2 "holes" 1 centimeter deep in a pot, put 1 seed there, fill it with soil, water it. You can plant in 1 pot and a larger number of seeds, for example, pour everything out of the bag, but then after the first 2-3 permanent leaves appear in our plants, the seedlings will need to be picked, that is, planted in different containers so that the bushes do not interfere with each other.

Everything, with the sowing, finished, watered, now we put it on the windowsill and wait for the shoots. Do not forget to water.

After 2-3 months, you will harvest the first crop from your plants. Pepper can grow in a pot for several years, most often the period of growth and fruiting is 3-4 years, then the plant dries up.

Top dressing

Don't forget about feeding. It is enough to add fertilizers to the soil once a month during the fruiting period. You can use watering, you can stick special fertilizer sticks into the ground, which will gradually dissolve. The choice is yours.
