It happens that an outwardly healthy rose bush does not bloom or gives single buds. Blind shoots are to blame for 70% of this phenomenon. Consider the questions: what blind shoots look like, the reasons for their appearance, what actions to take so that the rose begins to bloom
What are blind shoots
Beautiful buds on roses appear with proper care. If the branches of the bush are blinded, then it will remain without flowering. What do blind or dormant shoots look like? Blind (dormant) shoots are almost indistinguishable from full-fledged strong growths. The difference can be seen on close inspection.
A fruiting branch ends with a bud or a young growth, and the blind has no continuation - the top of the head is empty, with no signs of further development. The growth point is blinded and the twig ends in a leaf.
Why do blind shoots appear on roses
The reasons for the many blind escapes can vary. I will name 7 main reasons:
• freezing of roots in cold winters or with poor shelter;
• damaged kidneys during spring frosts;
• improper deepening of the root system during planting;
• lack of nutrition;
• lack of pruning or sparing (only peduncles are cut off);
• lack of sunlight;
• fattening branches.
It can be noted that the tendency to produce unproductive shoots is noted in some varieties (a frequent occurrence on the Aphrodite rose). Climbing species never have a similar problem. Fatty roses can occur in young bushes and those that are overfed, do not prune or do the wrong pruning.
How to help a rose bloom
The rose can be returned to normal development and active flowering with the timely establishment of the cause and immediate action. If the ends of the branches are blinded, the bush will not bloom without your help, so prune it.
Problematic branches are cut in half, leaving a high-quality bud. After 10-15 days, she will give a sprout with a bud. Above the promising bud 1 cm is left, the cut is made with a sharp pruner / knife at an acute angle. If there is a choice, then when pruning a rose, leave a bud, the growth of which will be directed from the crown, and not inward. You will simultaneously correct the shape of the plant and eliminate thickening.
If the blinded shoot is powerful and rather long, pinch the top of its head. Weak and thin, it is docked in half, sometimes even more trimmed, so that one third remains. In any case, 1-2 strong buds should be present on the branch.
The rose may have underdeveloped short growths (8-10 cm), consisting of several leaves. Such branches can be fat or thin, in any case, they will pull forces, thicken and will not give buds. There is no sense in shortening them, they are removed completely, without leaving the "hemp".
In rare cases, a sprout appears on the blinded top without pinching and trimming. There is no need to waste time and hope, it is better to do a restorative pruning right away. Flowering time will come later, so the sooner the cause is identified and action is taken, the better.
If time is lost and you notice that the bush is blinded only in August - nothing needs to be done. It is not recommended to prune roses at the end of summer. The plant will waste its energy in vain, the young shoots will not have time to get stronger and will freeze in winter.
How to fertilize a rose after pruning
After removing blind shoots and excess growth, help the bush to recover faster, the rose needs to be fed. Any complex mineral mixture is introduced in the form of a liquid top dressing. OMU Universal, Fertika, Biud, Trace element additive, Agricola (for flowering), Etisso, Pocon works well. To activate the growth of roses, you can pour infusion of mullein, nitro-, azophos or urea (2 tablespoons + 10 liters of water).

Miniature Roses
Miniature roses are distinguished by their special beauty, which is appreciated by many gardeners. It is noteworthy that most often miniature roses are grown as indoor plants, however, sometimes these plants are also used to decorate the garden.
Zucchini Shoots
Juicy fruits in the form of zucchini appear on the tables in the summer season much earlier than other crops. Most gardeners plant zucchini on their plots due to the fact that they are not picky in terms of care, but are a healthy and tasty product. Also, courgette dishes, due to the low calorie content of the vegetable, are often used in diets, which will delight young housewives. Children also love the fruits of this plant
Blind Area For The Foundation
The durability of the building depends on the availability of a quality blind area. It is a mistake to think that the presence of a concrete strip around the house will save the foundation from moisture - this, unfortunately, is just a path for walking along the house. The article provides information for a zealous owner on creating the right blind area

Blind Enemies Of The Gardener. Part 1
For gardeners, the appearance of land heaps and underground labyrinths on the site is the reason moles are blamed for all their failures, including a decrease in yield. But are they really the only ones to blame? In nature, there are many other small "diggers", whose vital activity leaves traces similar to molehills. Not all digging animals harm the garden, so do not rush to drastic measures. It is better to find out which animal liked the land plot
