Description of the features of the care and cultivation of miniature roses

It is recommended to plant such a plant in places where sunlight will be provided, as well as reliable protection from the wind. It is noteworthy that the soil for miniature roses can be any, however, loamy, slightly acidic soils remain the most preferred. In the case when the soil is sandy, then during planting it is required to add a mixture consisting of equal parts of humus and clay. In the event that the soil is too heavy and damp, it is required to add a mixture of equal parts of humus and sand to the soil during planting. These plants are recommended to be grown at a distance of about twenty to twenty-five centimeters from each other. From time to time, the flowers should be watered, as well as loosened the soil, while feeding for the entire season will be required four times.

During the first half of the growing season, fertilizing should be done with nitrogen fertilizers. As soon as the buds appear, then you should switch to feeding already through mineral fertilizers: for example, superphosphate or potassium nitrate is ideal. For the winter period, flowers should be spud to a height of about fifteen to twenty centimeters. It is recommended to cover miniature roses with spruce branches for the winter period of time: this must be done as soon as the onset of cold weather occurs.

In the spring, such a shelter should be removed immediately, otherwise the timely swelling of the buds will not begin in miniature roses. With regard to the reproduction of this plant, then these measures should be taken from May to August.

Reproduction of this plant can take place by means of green cuttings or by means of budding. As for propagation by cuttings, this method is optimal for both spring and summer time. It is noteworthy that propagation by means of green cuttings is equally suitable for both plants that grow in open field conditions and for those plants that are grown in indoor conditions. For such reproduction, you will need to cut cuttings of healthy plants about five to seven centimeters, on which green leaves must be present. Cuttings are recommended to be planted in pots containing sand. In this case, the lower leaves should be removed beforehand. After that, such cuttings are covered with cans or foil. Throughout the rooting period, periodic watering of the cuttings will be required. Rooting of the cuttings will take about four to six weeks. After the rooting of new plants occurs, it is important to plant the cuttings in a permanent place.

Quite often, this plant is affected by a spider mite. In addition, aphids often act as pests. As for diseases, miniature roses are susceptible to fungal diseases: for example, powdery mildew, rust and black leaf spot.
