The diameter of the wrapper of this plant will be almost two centimeters. The outer leaflets are linear-lanceolate and spiky, they are covered with hairs on the outside, the middle leaflets will be linear, for the most part they are equal to the outer ones.
The flowers of Japanese elecampane are colored yellow, they are reed, and for the most part they will be smooth, or sometimes they may be scattered glandular on the outside. The tubules of such flowers are somewhat shorter than the crests, and the reeds are linear. The length of such reeds will be about one and a half centimeters, and the width will slightly exceed one centimeter. The tongues will be endowed with four veins and three teeth. The median flowers are four millimeters long. The length of the achenes of this plant will be about one and a half millimeters, such achenes are covered with small and scattered hairs that will be pressed up. The flowering of this plant occurs in the month of September. In natural conditions, Japanese elecampane can be found in the Far East: in the Ussuriysk and See-Bureinsky regions. In terms of general distribution, this plant is native to China and Japan.
