Hawk bitter is one of the plants of the family called Asteraceae or Compositae. In Latin, the name of this plant will sound like this: Acroptilon hierocioides L. As for the Latin name of the family of hawkweed mustard, it will sound like this: Asteraceae Dumort. It is noteworthy that hawk bitter is also known as yellow bitter. As for the popular names of this plant, it is also known under the following names: milk jug, hawk throat, bobilnik, bitter grass, flax, snake and bobilnik.

Description of hawk bitter

Hawkeye mustard is a biennial coarse-haired plant endowed with a branched stem; when cut from such a stem, milky sap is released. The length of such a stem will be about thirty to one hundred centimeters. Basal leaves are oblong-lanceolate and notched-toothed, while the stem leaves will be serrated, sessile, lanceolate, and semi-stemmed. The flowers of the hawkweed bitter are colored in dark yellow tones, they are endowed with a tuft and are collected in baskets. Flowering of this plant begins in June and lasts until August.

Under natural conditions, hawk bitter can be found in numerous regions of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. At the same time, this plant prefers shrubs, meadows, meadows and places along the roads for growth.

Description of the medicinal properties of hawk bitter

Hawkeye mustache is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the leaves of this plant for medicinal purposes. It should be noted that the chemical composition of hawkweed mustard is still not fully understood.

This plant is endowed with a diuretic, choleretic, emollient, analgesic and mild laxative effect. As for traditional medicine, here an aqueous infusion of leaves of hawkweed mustard is used for jaundice of various origins, as well as for cholecystitis. Also, an aqueous infusion of the leaves of this plant can be used as a laxative for constipation and pain that occurs from bruises of internal organs.

The following remedy is also quite effective: namely, the use of crushed leaves of hawkweed mustard in the form of a poultice. Such leaves are recommended to be applied to dense inflammatory foci, which include carbuncles and boils. Such a remedy turns out to be very effective and contributes to the fact that both softening and complete resorption of such dense inflammatory foci will occur. It should be noted that young leaves of this plant are quite acceptable even to eat.

For constipation, the following remedy based on hawkweed mustard is effective: for its preparation, it is recommended to take one tablespoon of dry herb of this plant for one third of a glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for twenty minutes, and after that such a mixture is filtered very carefully. It should be noted that in order to achieve the greatest efficiency from the use of such a remedy based on hawk bitterness, it is recommended not only to observe all the rules for preparing this remedy, but also all the conditions for its use. Such a remedy based on hawk bittern should be taken one to two tablespoons three to four times a day in order to cure constipation. It is noteworthy that due to insufficient knowledge of the chemical composition of this plant, it can be fully assumed that in the near future new ways of using the medicinal properties of hawkweed must appear.
