The colorful vegetables planted in your garden will make it beautiful and blooming. The colorful hues of vegetables and fruits are obtained through natural pigmentation. The color of plants not only gives them a beautiful appearance. There are some pigments that are beneficial to human health. For example, antioxidants that protect the cardiovascular system and protect against cancer.

1. Radish

These roots are small in size and grow quickly and easily. Most often they are red, but there are varieties of radish in pastel colors, striped and even black. Watermelon radish also has excellent taste and beautiful appearance. Its tubers are round, on average about 10 cm in diameter. Its peel is white, green and pink-red. This radish is sweet and tasty, without bitterness.

2. Eggplant

We all know perfectly well the dark purple eggplant, the skin of which casts a noble black color. But this vegetable comes in different colors and shapes. There are eggplants in light purple, green, white, striped and even orange shades.

3. Carrots

Carrots have been cultivated by vegetable growers since the 17th century. She was at that time exclusively orange in color. The Dutch bred this vegetable, dedicating it to William of Orange, the great fighter for the independence of Holland. Now there are many varieties of carrots that differ in shape and color - red, white, purple and black.

4. Cauliflower

There is a wide variety of shades in cauliflower. It can be bright green, yellow and purple. This vegetable crop contains a large amount of nutrients. It contains dietary fiber, folic acid, vitamin C, beta-carotene and anthocyanins.

5. Corn

Few people can be found who would not love this delicious yellow corn. However, it can also be of other colors. For example, popcorn is made from specially grown varieties that come in a variety of colors, including blue, pink, red, black and green.

6. Beans

The pods of this famous legume crop come in a variety of colors and shades, shapes and sizes. Their skins are often distinguished by intricate, colorful patterns. Bean flowers look very attractive, and its greens and pods delight the eye with their brightness and saturation.

7. Tomatoes

The popularity of tomatoes is known to all gardeners in the world. If earlier this vegetable was associated with red, then recently there are more and more varieties of tomatoes with different colors - yellow, pink, orange, black. There are even varieties of green and striped tomatoes.

8. Pumpkin

Probably no one will argue about the beauty and usefulness of pumpkin. This melon crop has a varied palette of colors, various shapes and sizes. But not everyone knows about the existence of blue and blue pumpkins, inside of which there is a sweet orange pulp (for example, the Sweet Meat variety from New Zealand).

9. Potatoes

This vegetable is very popular. Many dishes are simply impossible to imagine without potatoes. Its different varieties differ in taste, color and shape. There are varieties that are better suited for frying, others are preferable to boil or simmer. The color of a vegetable can be white, yellow, brown with all shades of these colors. There are blue or deep purple potatoes with purple flesh. This variety retains its color after boiling. Like most vegetables and fruits with rich colors, blue potatoes are high in antioxidants.

10. Chard

This is not to say that this culture is widespread in Russian gardens. It is most often found in the southern regions. Chard is very similar in appearance to beets, but only its leaves are eaten, not the roots. Chard tops have a great taste, beautiful appearance and rainbow colors - white, yellow, pink, red (especially the stems). The vegetable is easy to grow and tolerates cool climates well.
