The unpretentious and resistant to low temperatures deciduous shrub will decorate the garden with bright flowers, which will be replaced by decorative reddish fruits - swollen beans. The long flowering period, picky about the composition of the soil and watering make the Bubble a welcome representative of the flora at the summer cottage. Will strengthen steep slope areas
Rod Bubble
There are two kinds of plants with the same name in Russian - Puzyrnik. But their Latin names are different.
Bubbles = Cystopteris, belongs to the Bubbles family. The appearance and lifestyle of this herbaceous plant is closer to ferns. We'll talk about the deciduous shrub, Bubblebird = Colutea (Colutea), which belongs to the legume family. It was the shape of its fruit - swollen beans - that gave rise to the Latin name of the genus. After all, the ancient Greek word "koiloun" means "cavity".
Among more than 25 species of representatives of the genus, there are specimens armed with thorns in the course of evolution, which will be very useful when constructing a hedge from a bush called "Bubble".
Varieties
•
Bubble tree (Colutea arborescens) - a relatively fast growing spreading shrub most common in culture. Light brown stems are covered with pinnate leaves, consisting of light green oval leaves. The winter hardiness of the plant is more reliable to maintain by insulating the bush with leaves or branches of spruce branches. Frozen branches in the spring should be cut off. Resistant to drought, unpretentious to soil.
From May to July, brushes of yellow moth-type flowers are formed in the axils of the leaves. Five petals of the flower form miniature sailboats with two oars. Two petals fused together form a boat; two side petals are oars, and the upper petal turns into a sail of a miraculous graceful vessel for fairy elves. Closer to autumn, instead of flowers, green swollen beans filled with seeds are formed. Over time, they change their shade to bright red or copper, decorating the autumn bush. The seeds of the bladderworm are poisonous.
•
Oriental bubble (Colutea orientalis) - the shrub has a beautiful rounded crown, the branches of which are covered with gray-green leaves. The size of the bushes is inferior to the tree-like vesicle. It tolerates frost worse, so it requires pruning frozen branches in the spring. Copper-red flowers leave behind purple-red beans that turn brown over time.
•
Vesicle medium (Colutea x media) is a hybrid. He took from the tree-like and oriental vesicles: a decorative lush crown, a grayish-green color of the leaves. Bronze-yellow flowers cover the shrub abundantly from July to September. Differs in greater winter hardiness, loves illuminated places, does not like acidic and dry soil.
Growing
The bladder, with rare exceptions, is unpretentious to soils, but does not tolerate stagnant water. As a rule, it is drought tolerant. Watering is required for young plants and with prolonged drought.
Prefers well-lit landing sites. Withstands both high and low temperatures. For the winter, it is better to cover the roots with foliage.
In the spring, pruning of the bush is done, cutting out frozen, dry, poorly located or frail branches.
It strengthens crumbling slopes well.
Reproduction
More often propagated by seeds, sowing in the spring.
At the end of summer, it can be propagated by lignified cuttings, planting cuttings rooted by spring in separate containers, and in autumn defining them in open ground.
When purchasing seedlings from nurseries, do not chase after size, choosing well-formed compact bushes.
Diseases and pests
Poorly drained and waterlogged soils provoke root rot.
The branches can be affected by the fungus "Nectria cinnabarina" (Nectria cinnabarina).

Spectacular Fruits Of Lakonos
I first saw an attractive herb with large leaves and a snow-white inflorescence that looked like a Christmas candle on the unkempt lawn near my entrance. Among the disorderly grasses of the lawn, he looked like a foreign alien, solid, noble and imposing. I watched him for several summer seasons, but somehow it did not come to a closer acquaintance. The name of the Handsome, who took his place on the lawn, I learned quite recently
