Artificial pyrethroids. Part 1

About 150 years ago, to protect cultivated plants from pests, the Caucasian (Dalmatian, in Latin "feverfew") chamomile was actively used, the flowers of which contain a natural active substance - pyrethrin. Upon contact, this substance is quickly absorbed into the body of the insect pest, affecting its nervous system and, practically, instantly paralyzing the insect. Today pyrethrin has been superseded by its synthetic counterparts, pyrethroids, which are much more active, photostable, and much cheaper than their natural predecessor

Today, such artificial pyrethroids as arrivo, decis, inta-vir, karate, kinmix, sumicidin, fury and others are widely known.

Arrivo

Arrivo is an emulsion with high initial toxicity, paralyzing insect pests practically instantly upon contact with them. It also acts on the laid eggs of pests, but not as effectively as on individuals.

After spraying the plants, which is carried out during the growing season, its effect lasts for two weeks. Within a week after treatment with the emulsion, do not carry out manual work in the treated area. It is recommended to use arrivo during the maximum number of pests on the plants.

The preparation is dangerous for bees, therefore it should not be used during flowering of plants, and for fish, that is, it is necessary to exclude its entry into water bodies.

Arrivo is used against:

• Aphids - on potatoes, wheat.

• Corn moth and cotton bollworm - on corn.

• Colorado potato beetle - on potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants.

• Whitefly - on cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers in greenhouses.

• Fruit-mongrel - on apple trees.

• Leaf roll - on apple trees, grapes.

• Gnawing scoop - on watermelons, melons, tomatoes.

• Beetroot and carrot flies - on carrots.

Decis

It is considered the safest drug against many types of pests when used correctly. In favor of its safety, they cite the fact that decis was used abroad the day before the harvest.

Decis is more effective against larvae than against adults, which determines its use in the early stages of insect development. Its effectiveness also decreases at air temperatures above 25 degrees. The action is manifested through contact with the pest, as well as when they eat the sprayed leaves.

Decis is used against:

• Colorado potato beetle - on potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants.

• Aphids, leaf moths, moths, weevils - on apple trees and other plants exposed to the invasion of these pests.

• Complex of pests - on ornamental shrubs and trees.

Inta-vir

The high effect of the protective properties of Inta-Vira is achieved when using a freshly prepared solution, for which its tablet is dissolved in 10 liters of water and sprayed with pest-infected plants in clear calm weather.

Inta-vir is a universal remedy capable of infecting 52 species of insect pests, acting on them paralytically. In addition, it is used against cockroaches and red ants, making a more concentrated solution.

During the flowering of plants, it is impossible to carry out the treatment with inta-vir. In addition, inta-vir is toxic to bees and fish. If you have hives on your site, then it is better to use other types of plant protection from pests, and also make sure that it does not get into the reservoir.

Inta-vir is used against:

• Aphids, leafworms, moths, flower beetles - on apple trees, pears, quince.

• Leafworm, fire flies, sawflies - on currant and gooseberry bushes before and after flowering.

• Cherry flies - on cherries and cherries during the period of berry coloring.

• Weevil - on strawberries before flowering.

• Leaf-gnawing caterpillars, carrot flies and others - on cabbage, beets, carrots.

• Potato ladybug, moth, Colorado potato beetle - on potatoes.

• Aphids, thrips, whiteflies - on cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes grown in greenhouses.
