Let us continue our story about sweetish path (sinsepalume) with amazing properties of berries. Let us dwell in more detail on the methods of reproduction and cultivation
Reproduction
The most effective way to get new seedlings is by seed. Young plants bear all the characteristics of the mother specimen.
The seeds are removed from ripe berries. Delay in planting leads to a decrease in the germination of the original material. The later you plant, the less likely a positive result is.
The sinsepalum bone is very hard. Before sowing, it is necessary to break the top layer. Sandpaper is scratched in several places with sandpaper. Then they are soaked in growth stimulants (heteroauxin, epine) for a day.
Prepare the soil by adding a mixture of humus, sand, peat to a 2-liter container in a ratio of 2: 1: 1. To improve the moisture capacity of the substrate, sphagnum moss or perlite cut into pieces are mixed in in an amount of 10-15% of the total mass.
Drainage is laid at the bottom of the pot - expanded clay or clay shards. Holes are punctured. They fill up the soil. Moisturize until saturated. A seed is placed to a depth of 1.5 cm. Cover with foil.
During germination, the moisture of the earth is monitored. Excess water will lead to decay of the planting material. Once a day, the shelter is raised to ventilate and remove condensation. The germination process is slow, lasting from 3 weeks to 2 months.
Young bushes are kept under cover for 3 weeks. Then they gradually accustom themselves to the conditions of the room. Plants grown from seeds begin to bear fruit in 3-5 years.
Vegetative propagation is rarely used. The rooting percentage is negligible.
Care method
It is important to maintain the moisture content of the substrate at the same level. Water the sweetish pathway moderately, as the top layer of the soil dries up, with soft, settled water. Top dressing 1 time in 2-3 weeks with a complex fertilizer for flowers or "Zdrav universal" 1, 5 grams per 1 liter of liquid. The plant especially needs additional nutrients in the winter-spring period.
The trees are transplanted after the development of the earthen volume of the previous pot 1 time in 2-3 years. Fresh substrate is added evenly from all sides, placing the plants in the middle of the new container.
Tolerates pruning well. If desired, a plant is formed in two versions: a tree or a bush.
In the summer, the track is taken out into the street, installed in the light shade of trees. Alternatively, use the available greenhouses. The "miracle berry" hibernates exclusively at home, in winter gardens, greenhouses.
The average life span of a synsepalum in a tub culture is about 30 years. By this age, the plant occupies a volume of 15-20 liters of substrate, the crown height is 1.2 meters.
