Nowadays, no well-kept garden is complete without a lawn. It is the perfect backdrop for plants to highlight their beauty. Consider an example of arranging a lawn and maintenance rules
Lawn device
The lawn is usually arranged in front of the house or terrace, but it will look most attractive in the center of your site. And if it is planted with flowering plants, this will give it the greatest attractiveness.
To keep the lawn even and thick, you need to carefully prepare the soil. The initial action is to remove weeds. It will not take long and not time consuming if you are using herbicides. You can choose any: Tornado, Elumis, Hurricane, Agritox, Alistair Grand, Lapis Lazuli, Dilute according to the instructions and spill the site. After two weeks, all the weeds will die and you can start digging.
The next stage is the introduction of mineral and organic fertilizers. After that, a second digging is done. Then the soil is leveled with a rake and the rhizomes of the weeds are selected. Once again leveled and sown with seeds.
After sowing, sprinkle with peat / fine soil and compact. You can do this with a hand roller or with planks / plywoods that are attached to the shoes. For better germination, you need to water and cover with a non-woven cloth.
The most lush / dense is obtained by sowing several varieties of grasses, so buy a mixture of herbs based on the location of the lawn (sun, shade, or purpose). You can buy a kit for shady, semi-shady areas. For example, a "football field" is bought for sunny places on which you will walk. Lawn collection "Playground" consists of grasses that are resistant to trampling and hardy to shade.
Sowing can take place all summer and September. So that the lawn is lush and even, the sowing rates should be observed: per 1 sq. meter up to 40 g (two handfuls). The initial mowing is done on a well-regrown lawn - the grass is 10-15 cm high.
Lawn care
An important step in grooming is a haircut. You should not start / grow the lawn up to a height of 25 cm - the grass starts to lie down and mowing becomes difficult. To keep your lawn looking well-groomed, mow every week. When mowing, it is recommended to leave a height of 4 cm. Systematic mowing improves its condition: the density and density of the turf increases.
Be sure to remove the cut grass so that it does not rot and spoil the lawn. The last haircut is done in September / early October. The calculation is carried out according to the weather in your area - before frost, the grass should grow by 8-10 cm.
The second important point of care is frequent watering. This is especially necessary in hot, dry weather. You need to water from a hose with a spray in the evening. Twice a week is enough. Make sure that the soil is moistened to the depth of the roots.
Lawn decoration
The green lawn is the perfect base for any design fantasy. Separately lying stones, flowering / ornamental shrubs, alpine slides, group flower plantings, conifers will look great on it. The edge of the lawn can be decorated with a mixborder, a low hedge, a rabatka.
All planted plants must have spectacular decorative qualities. These can be large flowers of bright colors, plants with textured leaves. Choose tall enough so that they stand out against the flat green carpet. For these purposes, perennial plants are suitable:
• hydrangeas, peonies, • multi-colored astilbe, • phlox, • spray roses, • echinacea, • liliaris, • delphinium, • hosts, • mordovnik, • fern, • badan, • daylilies.
The lawn can be decorated with long-blooming annuals, for example:
• zinnia, • tagetes, • dawatera, • dahlia, • decorative sunflower, • Turkish carnation.
It is better to make multi-tiered flower arrangements, where perennials are combined with annuals. Flowering periods can be matched with consistent flowering. The contours of such landings are recommended to be made winding with smooth outlines. This will add a certain romantic touch.
As you can see, it's easy to make a lawn with your own hands. Thanks to your efforts, a perennial decoration of your territory and a basis for landscape compositions will appear.
