Korean chrysanthemum (lat. Chrysanthemum x koreanum) - an unusually beautiful flower culture; the species unites many hybrids and varieties, belongs to the genus Chrysanthemum of the Asteraceae family, or Astrovye. All varieties belonging to the Korean chrysanthemum species are distinguished by high cold-resistant properties. Compared with other species, it has one significant advantage - it is suitable for cultivation in open ground in central Russia.

Most of the varieties from this group were obtained by crossing common species, namely Indian chrysanthemum (Latin Chrysanthemum indicum), garden chrysanthemum (Latin Chrysanthemum x morifolium), alpine chrysanthemum (Latin Chrysanthemum alpinum), Siberian chrysanthemum (Latin Chrysanthemum and sibiricum) other types. Breeding work on the development of the first varieties and hybrids of this species began at the end of 1920. Today, American, European and Russian breeders are engaged in the creation of new varieties.

The varieties and hybrids of Korean chrysanthemums boast a huge variety of shapes and colors of inflorescences and leaves, bush height, flowering time and other structural features. For several decades, Korean chrysanthemum has been valued by Russian gardeners and flower growers for its extraordinary beauty and diversity. She is often called the star of the autumn garden. * Amethyst - the variety belongs to the class of flat terry. It is represented by plants up to 60 cm in height with erect stems and small solid green foliage, forming compact bushes, bearing double inflorescences up to 6 cm in diameter, pink-white, pink-yellow or lilac-white in color. Blooms in the third decade of August - the first decade of September. Flowering lasts about a month. Suitable for landscaping the garden, suitable for cutting and creating bouquets. * Indian Summer - the variety is represented by plants up to 70 cm in height with erect stems, bearing dark green smooth foliage and forming compact bushes during the growth process. Flowering later, does not come until late September - early October. The variety is distinguished by drought-resistant and winter-hardy properties. Ideal for cutting and making bouquets.

* Evening Lights - the variety belongs to the class of simple. It is represented by plants up to 35-40 cm high, forming low-growing compact bushes, on which inflorescences-baskets flaunt, consisting of yellow tubular flowers and bright red reed flowers and reaching a diameter of 5-7 cm. Flowering occurs in mid-August, lasts 1- 1, 5 months. It is used to decorate borders, garden paths, ridges, rock gardens and other types of flower beds in combination with other dwarf plants.

* Royal Purple (Royal Purpl) - the variety belongs to the class of hemispherical terry. It is represented by plants up to 100 cm in height with erect stems and hemispherical inflorescences-baskets, the diameter of which varies from 8 to 12 cm. The ligulate flowers have a rich purple color. Blooms in October - November. Suitable for indoor cultivation only.

* Sudarushka - the variety belongs to the semi-double class. It is represented by plants up to 55 cm in height with highly branching erect, strongly leafy stems, forming semi-spreading bushes. Inflorescence-basket, not more than 5 cm in diameter, consists of yellow tubular flowers and brick reed flowers. It blooms for 25-30 days. Flowering occurs in early September.

* Malchish-Kibalchish - the variety belongs to the class of simple ones. It is represented by plants forming sprawling bushes up to 30-35 cm high. Inflorescence-basket, no more than 5-6 cm in diameter, consists of yellow tubular flowers and rich purple reed flowers. Flowering begins in the third decade of August, lasts 1 month. Outwardly similar to garden daisies. The variety has high winter-hardy properties.

* Koreanochka - the variety belongs to the class of semi-double. It is represented by plants up to 65 cm high, forming erect semi-spreading bushes, on which semi-double inflorescences-baskets with a diameter of up to 7 cm with bronze-golden reed flowers flaunt. It blooms in the last decade of July to the second decade of August. It boasts high winter hardiness.
