Buzulnik Przewalski (lat. Ligularia przewalskii) - herbaceous perennial; one of the numerous representatives of the Buzulnik genus of the Asteraceae family. It occurs naturally in China and Mongolia. Typical habitats are mountain slopes. Today, the plant is actively cultivated in the United States of America, some European countries and the People's Republic of China.

Characteristics of culture

Buzulnik Przewalski is represented by perennial herbaceous plants, reaching a height of 1.5 m. It is characterized by thin, split, sharp-fingered foliage, which, in turn, sits on petioles of red-brown color. Inflorescences are represented by small baskets, which are collected in narrowed spikelets, not exceeding 80 cm in length. Flowering is observed in the middle of summer, to be more precise, in the third decade of June - the first decade of July. Flowering cannot be called long, it lasts about a month.

Usage

Nowadays, Przewalski's buzulnik is used in folk medicine and ornamental gardening. It is planted in groups, for example, in alliance with delphiniums, which have a lilac, blue, blue or purple color. This combination gives the compositions a special zest. By the way, Przewalski's buzulnik has several varieties. Take Dragons Brief, for example. It is characterized by low plants bearing foliage that differs from the main species in narrower lobes. No less attractive is the variety referred to as Light Fingered.

In medicine, as already mentioned, Przewalski's buzulnik also firmly occupied his niche. It is most often used by Chinese traditional healers. They recommend using the aerial part of the plant in the fight against ailments associated with the nervous system. It also has wound healing properties, the herb tincture accelerates the healing process of wounds and cuts. The infusion is also effective against boils. In addition, Przewalski's buzulnik is called a natural antidepressant, it helps to disperse bad thoughts and improve mood.

The subtleties of growing

Przewalski's buzulnik is propagated most often by dividing the bush. In general, a culture can grow for more than ten years in the same place without losing its decorative properties. True, after 5-7 years, the root system of the buzulnik appears on the soil surface. If the roots have crawled out, this should be considered a sign that it is time to transplant the plant, or at least add fertile soil in order to hide the root system. It is desirable to divide the culture in question in early spring with the appearance of young foliage.

In the process, it is not necessary to dig out the entire bush, it is enough to separate part of it using a sharp bayonet shovel. It is important to rinse a large cut with settled water, and then divide it into several more parts, but so that each of them has a growth bud, otherwise the cut will not take root. It is recommended to treat all sections with a disinfecting solution in order to prevent rotting.

It is recommended to plant delenki in pits prepared in advance and fertilized with humus and superphosphate, the size of which depends on the material itself. The distance between the plants, in turn, should be at least 40-60 cm, because over time, Przewalski's buzulnik will build up a voluminous spreading mass, respectively, the neighbors will significantly slow down growth, which will negatively affect the decorative properties.

With regular care, the delenki will quickly grow. It is important to remember that in the process of growth, plants reach a height of 1.5 m, which means that they need a garter, otherwise the bushes will fall apart in different directions. It should also be noted that Przewalski's buzulnik does not like bright light, respectively, it should be planted in semi-shaded areas with diffused light. If you land on a sunny area, it is necessary to ensure an optimal humidity regime.
