The flowering of herbaceous periwinkle occurs in the period from May to June. This plant is found on the territory of the European part of Russia: namely, in the Black Sea, Lower Don and Volga-Don regions. Also, this plant can be found in Moldova, and in the Caucasus, and in Ukraine - in the Carpathians and the Dnieper region. In addition, herbaceous periwinkle grows on the territory of Crimea.

In addition to this, the root extract also has the so-called protistocidal activity. A substance such as vincamine is characterized by very active sedative, antiarrhythmic, and also central muscle relaxant properties. It is also worth noting that in the aggregate, the entire content of alkaloids is capable of exhibiting very high antibacterial activity. The roots of herb periwinkle can become a beneficial source of the so-called uterine alkaloids, and besides this, also such alkaloids that will actively stimulate hematopoiesis and the activity of the central nervous system.
The herb periwinkle herb extract has cardiotonic, hypotensive and anesthetic effects. This extract is able to increase the amplitude of respiratory movements, and also causes bradycardia and myometrial spasm. An infusion made from herbal extract will have hypoglycemic properties.
