Under natural conditions, this plant is distributed throughout the European part of Russia with the exception of the Lower Volga region, as well as in Ukraine, Belarus, the Caucasus, Moldova, Western Siberia and the Far East, with the exception of the Kuriles. For growth, this plant prefers infested areas. This plant is cultivated in the Caucasus, Ukraine, Siberia and Central Asia. It is noteworthy that the seed pea is a fodder plant, and there is also information about its toxicity.
It should be noted that sowing peas can be found as a weed in various crops, in places along roads, garbage places, in fallow lands, in gardens and vineyards, from lowlands to the middle belt of mountains. Sowing peas are relatively cold-resistant and frost-resistant. Among other things, this plant is also quite moisture-loving, which applies especially to the phases of budding and flowering. To the soil, this plant is not particularly demanding.
Description of the medicinal properties of the seed pea
Sowing peas are endowed with quite valuable medicinal properties, while it is recommended to use the seeds of this plant for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties is explained by the fact that lignins, steroids sitosterol 7-stigmasterol, vitamin C, as well as the following carotenoids: lutein, carotene, violaxanthin, zeaxanthin, cryptoxanthin and neoxanthin were found in the plant. The seeds of this plant contain carbohydrates: verbascose and tetragolactosidosucrose, as well as a nitrogen-containing compound called vicin, besides this, there are also cyclitols and their derivatives.
It should be noted that the seeds of the common pea are endowed with very valuable antidiabetic properties. Such seeds are recommended to be used internally for smallpox and measles in young children. It is noteworthy that the entire ground part of the plant can be eaten as a seasoning.
As a diuretic, you can use a fairly effective remedy based on seed peas: for the preparation of such a remedy, it is recommended to take one tablespoon of the seeds of this plant in one glass of water. It is recommended to boil the resulting mixture thoroughly, after which the mixture will be ready for use. It is noteworthy that in order to achieve the greatest efficiency, it is recommended not only to carefully observe all the features of the preparation of such a remedy, but also to strictly follow all the rules for its reception. It is recommended to drink such a remedy as a diuretic based on seed peas on one third of a glass three times a day.
