Scabiosa cornflower is a herbaceous perennial plant, the height of which can vary between eighty and one hundred centimeters. The plant along its entire length is covered with rather short and papillary hairs, while the scabiose cornflower is more or less rough, and the plant will be green in color. The stems of the plant are either single or few in number. The stems will be erect and branched. As for the leaves of the scabiosa cornflower themselves, they will be pinnate, the lower leaves are located on relatively long petioles, the upper leaves will be greatly reduced, partly the leaves are heart-shaped. The flowers of the plant themselves are painted in pinkish tones of various shades, while the marginal flowers are slightly enlarged. The fruit of the scabiosa cornflower is an achene, its length will be about three and a half to four and a half millimeters, and the length of the crest is four and a half millimeters, the color of such a fruit itself will be whitish.

The flowering of the scabiosa cornflower falls on the period starting from June and continues until September. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Ukraine, namely in the Carpathians and in the Dnieper region. In addition, scabiosa cornflower can also be found in the European part of Russia, in Belarus, in the Far East, as well as in Western and Eastern Siberia. The plant prefers meadows, mountain slopes, forest edges, shrubs, as well as river banks, along roads, in fallow lands up to the mid-mountain zone for growth.

Description of the medicinal properties of scabiosum cornflower

Scabiosum cornflower has very valuable medicinal properties. For this purpose, it is recommended to use the leaves of the plant and its herbs. Grass includes stems, flowers and leaves.

Such healing properties are explained by the fact that this plant contains rubber, steroids, sesquiterpenoid scabioside, caffeic acid, tannins, polyacetylene compounds, alkaloids, flavonoids, rhamnose, arabinose, phenols, prunisin, chlorogenic acid, and also D-glucose …

It has been scientifically proven that scabiosum cornflower has very valuable sedative, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, anticonvulsant, and also antispasmodic properties. All this has been confirmed through experiments. For headaches, various allergies, hepatitis and epilepsy, it is recommended to use an infusion made from the herb of scabiosum cornflower. As for the decoction of the herb, it is recommended to use it as a lotion for a variety of dermatitis, as well as for a rash. In addition, a decoction of the herb scabiosa cornflower also has antifungal properties. In this case, the herb infusion should be used for strokes, epilepsy and malaria, and the herb infusion should be used as baths or lotions for scofulosis.

To prepare the infusion, you will need to take one tablespoon of dry crushed herbs in one glass of boiling water, after which such a mixture should be infused for two hours, and then strain this infusion. For headaches, epilepsy, hepatitis and allergies, this infusion should be taken three to four times a day, one or two tablespoons.

For external use with scrofula, you should prepare the following: take three tablespoons of dry crushed herbs in two cups of boiling water, and then infuse for two hours, after which the resulting mixture should be filtered.
