Numerous forest herbs. It is difficult to define what counts as forest grasses, as the forest is constantly changing from young to overripe. The composition of grasses under the canopy of forests of different ages changes accordingly. So, in light forests there are many meadow species that will disappear when the forest is shaded
There are much more herbaceous plants in forests than woody ones. These are, as a rule, perennials, relatively shade-tolerant. Among them, there are both summer-green and winter-green species that preserve foliage in the cold season (hornet, sedge), there are those devoid of chlorophyll - typical parasites (Peter's cross). The living conditions of forest grasses largely depend on the tree layer. So, in the spring in deciduous forests, when there is still a lot of light, early spring plants develop. They manage to go through their development and give seeds before the canopy leaves. There are also plants in the forests - epiphytes, i.e. living on tree trunks: centipede fern, Robert's geranium. Let's get acquainted with the most typical forest grasses characteristic of adult (mature) forests, with some features of biology and useful properties.

Let us recall the names of herbaceous spore forests: ram and annual, wintering and meadow horsetails; numerous ferns: female cochinate, centipede leaflet, Brown's mulberry, common ostrich, male and Linnaeus ferns, common centipede, bracken and others.
Shrubs (lingonberry, crowberry) are also found in the forest cover.
Spring Firstborns
In spring, the triumph of a new life is especially vividly felt. At the end of February - March, when deciduous trees are still bare and through their crowns the sun's rays fall on the soil, heating it, blooming ephemeral herbs appear. Their vegetation is limited by the period of "spring of light" and young green canopies. Blooming early spring plants, like bright highlights, stand out against the background of brown foliage and emerald green herbs.
Young green leaves and golden-yellow flowers of the spring cleanser are, as it were, covered with transparent varnish and sparkle in the sun. Chistyak is a common representative of swampy lowlands, edges of deciduous forests. It is distinguished by tuberous roots. Thanks to them, it blooms early. Chistyak is an early spring plant with a short growing season. With the help of nodules and tuberous roots, it actively reproduces vegetatively. Often forms clusters.
A few species of spring flora are fragrant in the dampness of the forest. In the depressions of the ravines with alder forests, there are yellow flowers of the spleen. There is no such abundance of flowers inside the forest as in the glades. In some places, the stars of goose onions flicker, crested beads scattered with white-pink fantastic beads, curtains of curtains turn blue, a fragrant violet stands out with purple carpets.
The flowering of early spring plants lasts only a month and a half, until the trees above them unfold their foliage and close the sky above the tiny light-lovers. The above-ground life of ephemerals is also fleeting and is associated with the fall of early spring - before the foliage of trees. During the rest of the year, their life glimmers like an inextinguishable spring underground in bulbs. In early spring, here and there, against a green background of wintering pears, sedges, and thick-walled curls of corydalis break through.
Soon, after the snow melts, in the forests you can see the low stalks of the Corydalis with delicate lace leaves and lilac inflorescences. These are miniature, fragile and very graceful herbs. Flowers contain nectar and have a pleasant smell. Visited by bees. It is a pity that their flowering period is short.
When the buttercup anemone blooms, the trees are just beginning to bloom. There is still a lot of light in the forest at this time. Its flowers are like a buttercup. This is one of the most common spring plants in the forests of North Ossetia. With the leafing of the trees, the anemone dies off.

The common spleen is common in forests. Sometimes it forms thickets. It is found in deciduous forests, in wetlands, in damp meadows. Flowers and inflorescences of the next year are fully formed in the bud in the fall, and in the spring there is only lengthening of the stem
