For the onset of the heating season, many summer residents and owners of private houses are preparing in advance - someone is bought for the future with the usual firewood, and someone has already discovered such an interesting thing as eurowood: behind this name are fuel briquettes hermetically packed in polyethylene. So what is the best way to heat the house - with ordinary wood or an interesting novelty? Let's figure it out
What is Eurowood made of?
To create such briquettes, manufacturers invariably make a choice in favor of environmentally friendly raw materials - most often such waste of the woodworking industry as sawdust, as well as chips or wood dust are used. This raw material is pressed without the help of any adhesives under the action of a sufficiently high pressure, and the lignin contained in the wood plays the role of a binder. By the way, during pressing, all insects, bacteria and fungi die, and as a result, the manufacturer can offer the attention of consumers environmentally friendly fuel raw materials, the percentage of moisture in which does not exceed 5 - 12%!
Cons of eurodrops
Firstly, Eurowood can boast of a higher cost than ordinary firewood. However, their cost is largely offset by a number of undeniable advantages. And, secondly, to store such fuel, you should take care of the availability of a dry indoor space, which is not always realistic. If eurowoods are stored uncovered on the street, they will very quickly become completely unusable!
Pros of eurodrops
The main advantage of Euro wood in comparison with ordinary wood is their constant and invariable dryness - wet material simply cannot be properly compressed! In addition, all fuel briquettes are packed in an airtight film (usually one such package includes from four to fifteen briquettes), which allows you to store them just as much as you need, and at the same time they will neither dry out nor damp!
As for the volumes of heat released during combustion, it is about the same for ordinary firewood and for Euro wood. But finding perfectly dried ordinary firewood on sale is almost an unrealistic task! Sometimes the moisture content of freshly chopped wood can even reach fifty percent, respectively, a ton of birch firewood can contain from two hundred to five hundred kilograms of moisture, and this is, in fact, wasted money! And, of course, until such firewood is properly ignited, you will have to wait for the water to evaporate from it! So it turns out that the cost of Eurowood almost always fully justifies itself! And in order to fully realize the benefits of such an acquisition, it will not hurt to know that the efficiency of one ton of Euro wood is equal to about five cubic meters of ordinary firewood!
By the way, it is also much more convenient to store euro wood! They require much less space! In addition, they will be easier to carry and store!
What do fuel briquettes look like?
There are several types of modern Eurodrops. The most common variety are the so-called "bricks" - they are not only very compact, but also boast longer burning times. They are followed by octagonal bars equipped with a hole inside - such bars have an external resemblance to pencils cut in two, from which the lead was removed. Such an interesting structure allows them to create "internal traction", which allows them to give off heat to the maximum in the shortest possible time. And the intermediate option between the two above-described types of Eurodrops is considered to be made in the form of cylinders "poles" - they also burn perfectly and perfectly release heat!
Have you ever tried to replace ordinary firewood with eurowood?
