The kitchen is the favorite room in the house and the most frequent place where the owner is. Guests and family members gather here more often than in the living room. It is here that there is usually a small TV, which they watch with a cup of coffee or tea in hand. That is why indoor plants need to be selected as much as possible combined with the kitchen, with its smells, mood, so that the residents of the apartment are comfortable and cozy to be here. Light in the kitchen

Illumination from the window in the kitchen is an important condition at number one. Of course, the most favorable place here is on the windowsill. How much light there will be, and how much the sun's rays will burn in the summer, depends on which side of the kitchen window or two.

It is most optimal when the kitchen windows face east, west and southwest. The flowers will not be too hot here, but there will also be enough light for plants that need it especially. Plant here:

If the windows look in the north and northeast direction, then you need to understand that there will be a fairly dark side here and therefore those plants that love shade and tolerate it well should be planted here. This is:

Air temperature

The second most important condition for plants in the kitchen is the air temperature in the room. It is clear that it is often hotter here than in other rooms of the house. Therefore, you need to plant those plants that normally tolerate drops and elevated air temperatures.

There are also plants that, during their vegetative dormancy (usually in winter), need to lower the temperature regime of their maintenance. It is better to take such plants from the kitchen to the next one for the winter period. This is:

• geranium

• yuka

• cyclamens

• myrtle and some others

Less whimsical plants should simply be helped to maintain their normal temperature in the kitchen. Windows for the winter need to be insulated even in the kitchen so that frosty air does not blow through the cracks on the plants. Or install more sealed glass units on them.

If the windowsill is cold, then it is better to keep the plants on it in a double box. That is, put the pot itself with it in wooden or plastic long containers. In this form, the plants will not overcooled in winter.

If, on the contrary, it is too hot on the windowsill because of the heating battery under it, then you need to lay a piece of polystyrene or other material on the battery to protect the plants from excessive heat.

When airing the kitchen in winter and spring, remove the plants from it or move them from the windowsill into the interior so that the cold direct air does not harm them.

Why do you need a humidifier?

Such a household unit as a humidifier is an absolutely necessary thing in a house where there are many indoor plants. And the owners of the house themselves, for their full health, need a normal level of humidity in the apartment.

If no moisturizer is available, many plants need to be sprayed frequently. To reduce this procedure to a minimum, it is still better to install a humidifier with a humidity sensor in the room. You will see how the plants will respond to you with grateful flowering and good healthy leaves and stems when you install a humidifier in their room.

Don't Forget Edible Plants

Well, where, if not here, in the kitchen, contain edible plants? Fresh herbs, lemon tree, hot red pepper … There is nothing better to pick green onions, basil, parsley, dill from your own room garden, using them for food, or use lemon from your own lemon tree in tea, and hot pepper in borscht.
