Healing indoor plants. Part 4

Let's continue the theme of healing plants that live in our houses on window sills and in apartment greenhouses. Today I would like to start our conversation with a discussion of such a useful home flower as a golden mustache. Its other name is fragrant callisia

About the properties of the plant

Not only the golden mustache is called so. There are other less common names for it among plant breeders - corn, indoor ginseng, callisia. The healing properties of corn are unique. We'll talk about them a little later.

Callisia is a large, straight stalk, similar to an ear of corn, which has green leaves. Corn whiskers can grow up to one meter. Each such mustache has at its end a branch of green large juicy leaves. If you break them, then strong light threads will stretch inside it, like silk.

The treatment uses a more healing mustache of a flower with ten or more "knees" on the trunk. These mustaches have a brownish tint. But that was until recently, when biologists proved that less short mustaches are just as healing as long ones. The best time to use callisia in treatment is in the autumn. Then its healing power is highest.

Callisia:

• “works” as a biogenic stimulant;

• enhances the human immune system;

• acts as an antioxidant;

• destroys pathogenic flora in the body;

• strengthens blood vessels;

• removes excess fluid;

• relieves internal and external inflammatory problems:

• has an anti-cancer effect;

• heals many skin diseases and problems.

How to be treated with a golden mustache?

It happens that callisia is simply chewed in the mouth for treatment. But such use cannot be considered safe. It would be much more correct to use a tincture from it or other means, where the juice of the stem and leaves will be in a diluted state.

Callisia remedy recipe. You need to take half a kilo of honey, Cahors wine and corn (grind). Stir everything and leave for two weeks. Strain the product, put it in a cellar or in the cold and take a teaspoon at a time, preferably before eating. A similar remedy is used both for various tumor diseases and for simpler diseases.

Tincture for alcohol. Half a kilogram of leaves and stalk of corn, or just most of it, is chopped with a knife, poured with a bottle of vodka or diluted alcohol in a bottle, which would be convenient to shake up every day. Insist on the remedy for a week or two. Then it is filtered and taken in the same way as the remedy above, but you can double the dose. The tincture is used in oncology, as well as as a means to increase and restore the immune system and for other problems of the body.

Reproduction of callisia

This home flower is superbly propagated by cuttings. This can be done all year round. Its cuttings should simply be "grown" for the release of roots. It can be in the water, it can be in the ground. The roots of the cuttings will release in about a week or so. Then they need to be transplanted into a pot of earth for permanent residence in it.

New corn can be grown from cuttings from an older plant. It is very tenacious. But even its strong leaves can be scorched by direct sun, excessive heat on the windowsill, improper watering (you do not need to take long breaks in watering, but it is also not desirable to fill it) and cold.

Callisia loves to have some clay and some sand added to her pot, which she lives in all the time. It grows very quickly. And you need to tie up her rapidly growing shoots in a bunch in time. A support should be tied to the main stem.

A few words about the healing properties of ivy

And a few words to conclude the entire series of articles on healing indoor plants, I would like to talk about common ivy. These recipes with it will help get rid of the following body problems and diseases.

With baldness and rapid hair loss, one hundred grams of ivy should be chopped with a cleaver along with cloves of garlic (also one hundred grams). Rub this fragrant gruel into the scalp for about five minutes in the evenings, then rinse with shampoo and rinse your head with chamomile infusion.

The following remedy helps with gallstone disease. Pour a couple of tablespoons of herbs with half a liter of dry white wine, leave for a day, drain the herbs. This remedy should be drunk one spoonful three times a day, half an hour after the next dinner.

With cystitis, a spoon with ivy top is poured with half a liter of water, boiled over low heat for seven to ten minutes, let it brew, filter and drink one hundred ml undiluted. three to four times a day.
