But novice gardeners often do not understand what this is about. In accordance with the biological structure of the plant, the tomato bush contains a stepson in each leaf axil, which serves as an additional shoot. They need to be removed, otherwise the tomato bush will grow to a huge size, where the greens will interfere with the development of fruits, as a result of which there will be very few fruitful brushes here.

At the same time, there is one very interesting feature here, because in different varieties of tomatoes, pinching occurs in different ways. When buying seeds, you need to pay attention to the information written on the package. Here it is usually written about whether a certain variety belongs to the indeterminate or determinant varieties.

Both are different from each other. The first species have no restrictions on growth, due to which they can reach two or more meters in height. In the second case, the bush can only grow up to a certain border. Usually it is fifty to seventy centimeters, although there are even shorter bushes. Due to this difference, different bushes also need to be formed in different ways. In the first case, only the stem remains after pruning and pinching. Therefore, it is required to eliminate all the stepsons present from him.

Sometimes summer residents are misled by the inscription on the packaging of the determinant varieties "nonsynkayushchie". This is not very true, since the formation of the bush has a very beneficial effect on the development of the tomato bush. True, in such a situation, not all stepsons are subject to removal. In addition to the elements on the central stem, it is also required to leave a couple of stepchildren in the lower part of the bush. One of them should be located under the brush of the inflorescences, in the other, be stronger than the rest. These stepchildren will help ensure the formation of new stems from the sides.

It is necessary to remove the rest of the stepsons at the moment when they reach seven or ten centimeters in length. Break them out with the index and thumb. It is necessary to carry out the procedure with your hands, and not with scissors or a knife blade. Also, you should not pull out or pluck out the stepsons, because of which a wound may form that will not last long, and the risk of infection from fungi will increase several times at once. Although the wounds, due to pinching, remain in any scenario, when the process is carried out in the sunny morning, they can heal faster. After the stepchildren have broken the tomato out of the bush, it is important to leave in their places miniature stumps one or two centimeters in size. With a complete breakout of the shoot, you can soon expect the formation of a new stepson.

At a time when a summer resident has to carry out the formation of a tomato bush, he must understand the differences between two elements of a vegetable culture - a stepson and a flower shoot. Some inexperienced gardeners often pull out flower shoots along with the necessary stepsons. And this, in turn, adversely affects the yield of fruits. At the same time, it is actually very simple and easy to distinguish between these two elements. The stepson always includes leaves, even if he himself is still very small. On that shoot, which belongs to the flower, not a single leaf can be found.

In addition to pinching, the procedure for forming a tomato bush also consists in pinching. In other words, it is necessary to remove points of active growth on those shoots that have been preserved. The process should be carried out in early or mid-August. Removing the leaves from the tomato bush at the bottom of the trunk will help to prevent fungal diseases. This requires removing all leaves that are thirty centimeters or less from the topsoil.

A tomato bush that is well-formed and well-formed produces about five or six fruit-type clusters. At the same time, about three or four dozen leaves are placed on its trunk. Only in this situation, the action of useful components will be directed not at the development of stepchildren, but at the formation of fruits and their liquid taste. Thus, the fruits of the tomato will become larger, and the harvest will delight the summer resident much earlier than in the absence of the formation of a bush.
