Star scandix is one of the plants of the family called Umbelliferae, in Latin the name of this plant will sound like this: Scandix stellata Banks et Soland. As for the name of the star-shaped scandix family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Apiaceae Lindl. (Umbelliferae Juss.).

Description of the star scandix

Scandix star is an annual herb that will fluctuate in height between eight and thirty centimeters. The stem of this plant is branched at the top, and it is also dressed with short hairs. The leaves of the stellate scandix will be double-pinned and triple-pinned, their length is five centimeters, and the width is three centimeters, while in outline such leaves will be ovoid. The umbrella of this plant is endowed with one to three rays, the flowers are almost sessile, and the petals will be painted in white tones. The fruit of the stellate scandix will be sessile, it is colored brownish-brown and covered with whitish, stiff and upward bristles. The semi-flowers of this plant are endowed with protruding ribs, and their length is about twenty to thirty millimeters.

Under natural conditions, the star-shaped scandix is found in the territory of Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Crimea. For growth, this plant prefers dry channels, rock crevices, fine-gravel slopes, talus, as well as dry rocky slopes.

Description of the healing properties of star scandix

Scandix star is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes leaves, stems and flowers. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content of flavonoids and coumarins in the composition of this plant, while quercetin glucoside and luteolin 7-glucoside will be present in the fruits.

It is noteworthy that both a decoction and an infusion prepared on the basis of this plant are quite widespread in Armenia. Such medicines are used for various respiratory infections.

In case of adenovirus infection, the following healing agent based on this plant is quite effective: to prepare such a drug, you will need to take five tablespoons of scandix stellate herb for about one liter of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should first be left to infuse in a thermos for about two hours, after which this medicinal mixture based on this plant must be very thoroughly filtered. The resulting healing agent based on the herb scandix stellate is taken from three to four times a day, regardless of the meal, one third of a glass.

As an anticancer agent, it is recommended to use the following very effective healing agent based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take three tablespoons of dry crushed herb scandix stellate for about two full glasses of water. The resulting medicinal mixture should first be boiled for about three minutes over a fairly low heat, then left to infuse for two hours, after which this healing mixture must be very thoroughly filtered. The resulting drug based on scandix stellate is taken three times a day before the start of a meal, one third of a glass as an antitumor agent. Provided that it is taken correctly, such a drug based on the stellate scandix turns out to be very effective.
