Description of the plant
So, star aster or Italian is a herbaceous plant, which is also a perennial crop. In height, this plant reaches about twenty to sixty centimeters, this plant is endowed with a thick and oblique rhizome, as well as a stem, which will be slightly pubescent, leafy and reddish in color. As for the lower leaves, they are petiolate and spatulate or obovate. In this case, the upper leaves will be sessile and oblong-lanceolate. The flowers of this plant are collected in baskets, as well as in a corymbose panicle. The outer flowers in such baskets are rather long, ligate purple or blue in color, while the inner flowers are tubular and yellow. As for the achenes, they are endowed with a white tuft.
The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from July to September. In nature, star-shaped or Italian aster is found on the territory of Ukraine, Belarus, as well as in the European part of Russia. In addition, the plant can be found in Western Siberia, namely in the Verkhnetobolsk region.
This plant grows in forest glades, as well as on forest edges and on limestone slopes in natural conditions.
The healing properties of the star aster
This plant has excellent medicinal properties. It is noteworthy that the rhizomes of the star-shaped aster, as well as grass, namely the stems, leaves and flowers of this plant, are used for medicinal purposes.
Aster stellate or Italian contains rubber in its composition, and coumarins and polyacetylene compounds such as lachnophyllumefir and angelicaester were found in the rhizomes of this plant. Actually, this explains the healing properties of this plant.
In folk medicine, decoctions of rhizomes are widely used. Such a decoction is used for a variety of respiratory infections, as well as for lung diseases and bleeding of various etiologies, as well as for malaria. At the same time, the infusion of the roots of this plant is used for hemorrhoids and for respiratory infections. An infusion made from the rhizomes and herbs of this plant is used to treat gastritis. A decoction of rhizomes and herbs is used for proctitis and rectal prolapse. In addition, such a decoction can also be used externally in case of various eye diseases or tonsillitis.
Also used are preparations based on the herb of aster stellate, with a variety of tumors of the lymph glands. Sometimes an aqueous infusion is prepared from the flowers of this plant, which has a rather active expectorant effect. Actually, such an infusion is used to treat cough, as well as for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis.
Take about two grams of rhizomes per glass of water, after which such a mixture should be boiled for five minutes and left to infuse for two hours. The infusion must be filtered. This infusion is recommended for colds, proctitis and hemorrhoids at intervals of about half a glass three times a day.
In addition, you can prepare the following broth: one glass of water is taken for two tablespoons of the herb, such a mixture should be boiled for three to four minutes, and then left to infuse for one hour, and the resulting broth is recommended to be filtered. This broth is great for sore throat as a rinse, and also as a lotion for eye diseases. This broth should be crushed one or two tablespoons three times a day.
For lung diseases, it is recommended to take one tablespoon of the decoction four times a day. The broth is prepared as follows: about three teaspoons of dried flower baskets for one glass of boiling water.
