Pueraria (lat. Pueraria) - a small genus of perennial liana-like plants from the legume family (lat. Fabaceae). Botanists rank in this genus only 15 to 20 plant species born on Asian soil. The place of birth led to the use of the healing abilities of some species of the genus in traditional Chinese medicine, which is gaining more and more popularity in the West and in Russia. Especially valuable for the modern world is the ability of plant flowers to reduce the negative impact on the human body that occurs when drinking alcohol.

The Latin name of the genus preserves the memory of the authoritative botany, to whom Mankind owes the description and classification of vegetables growing on our planet. The name of this botanist, originally from Switzerland, is Marc Nicolas Puerari, years of life (1766 - 1845).

Description

Plants of the genus Pueraria, being liana-like creatures of the plant world, have an external resemblance to the vine. This is their ability to curl around a support that has turned up or arranged by a person, and the shape of the leaves, which differs in different species, but can be similar to grape compound leaves, consisting of three or five-lobed leaves.

Perennial plants are supported by roots that penetrate to a depth of 15 meters, or tubers, which store plant nutrients and healing substances to maintain human health and longevity.

Such a reliable underground base of plants of the genus allows them to quickly grow aboveground parts, including the length of the stems, which after a couple of years of life in a warm climate can be equal to 30 meters. In areas with cold winters, the aboveground parts of the plant die off with the arrival of cold weather, but the roots remain, showing new shoots in spring.

The flowers have a shape typical for plants of the legume family, have a pleasant aroma and are colored in blue and purple colors of different shades.

The fruit, also typical of legumes, is a bivalve pod filled with beans.

* Pueraria bean (lat. Pueraria phaseoloides) - it is notable for its breadth of use, being a fodder for livestock, a healer of depleted lands, a ground cover plant for growing fruit trees, a healer of human health.

* Pueraria nodule (lat. Pueraria Tuberosa) - the healing nodules of the plant played a cruel joke with him, turning the plant into a species that disappears from the planet due to the barbaric digging of the roots-nodules of the plant.
