Pueraria wonderful (lat. Pueraria Mirifica) - climbing plant, representative of the genus Pueraria (lat. Pueraria) of the legume family (lat. Fabaceae). This species of the genus was named "wonderful" for a reason. The white pulp of the tubers of the plant is the "elixir of youth", which the alchemists of the West have been looking for in vain for centuries. In the East, since ancient times, people knew and used a similar tool and had an enviable longevity.

What's in your name

Although it is generally known that the Latin name of the genus "Pueraria" was assigned to plants in honor of a botanist from Switzerland named Marc Nicolas Puerari, who described many vegetable crops in the first half of the 19th century, the Latin word "Puer" is still translated into other languages as "child" or " boy".

This meaning of the part of the Latin name of the genus, paired with the specific name "Mirifica" allowed some people to interpret the origin of the name of the plant precisely from the Latin "puer", that is, "child", "boy", and the Latin word "mirificus", which translates as " wonderful "," wonderful "," adventure ".

In Thailand, where the plant is highly respected since at least the 13th century AD, it is known as Kwao Krua Kao (Kwao Krua Kao), in which the word Kao means white. White color distinguishes this species from other species of the genus with tuberous roots, which usually have names - red, gray, black.

Traditional Thai medicine has been using the dried and crushed tubers of the Pueraria Mirifica plant from ancient times to the present day as a rejuvenating agent for women and men.

Description

The aboveground parts of this species differ little from their relatives. This is the same fast-growing liana, the stems of which are covered with complex leaves of three leaves. The leaves, though very smooth and neat, are round-ovate, with clearly defined veins.

The inflorescence in the form of a brush is formed by blue or violet-blue flowers typical of legumes. The flowers are bisexual, after pollination they transform into leguminous pods, the surface of which is covered with hairs.

The most valuable part of Pueraria Mirifica is its roots, on which tubers are formed that have simply magical properties.

What is the most valuable thing in the tubers of Pueraria miraculous

Among the many useful components contained in tubers, two phytoestrogens, which are currently found only in Miraculous Pueraria, occupy a special place. These are Deoxymiroestrol and Miroestrol, which can be an alternative to hormone therapy in the treatment of diseases such as cancer.

So, the American doctor Harry Gordon, who came to Thailand to conduct research on the treatment of breast cancer with the help of Pueraria miraculous, was impressed by the rarity of such a disease and the longevity of people inhabiting the territory where this plant grows. Although longevity, of course, is influenced by many factors, not just the magical properties of Pueraria.

Despite the fact that Pueraria miraculous, as shown by scientific studies, has a beneficial effect on many diseases, today a special boom around tubers is raised for their ability to increase breast size. Beauties with big breasts circulated on television and glossy magazines stir up interest in ointments; tablets; capsules filled with dried and finely crushed roots, mixed with other medicinal herbs, and other preparations containing extracts of this plant.

In addition to the above-described demand for the wonderful Pueraria tubers, the plant is capable of:

* to reduce the dependence or addiction of a person to alcoholic beverages;

* relax tired muscles and nervous tension;

* have a beneficial effect on the human circulatory system, lowering high blood pressure, reducing the proportion of "bad" cholesterol and the amount of sugar in the blood;

* preserve the firmness and elasticity of the skin, thereby prolonging the external youth of a person.
