Description of medium plantain

The average plantain is known under many popular names: grandma, rye, arzhenik, triputnik, petrovy batogs, gusarchik, paths, venzh uvula and uzik. The average plantain is a perennial herb endowed with a woody rhizome. The leaves of this plant can be both elliptical and ovoid, or even ovate-lanceolate. Such leaves of the middle plantain taper into a short wide petiole or are almost sessile with no furrows on the flower arrow. Also, such leaves of this plant are endowed with a four-lobed cup and an egg-shaped capsule, which will carry an average of three to four seeds. Plantain seeds are endowed with a light scar, they will be oval in shape and flat-convex. The flowering of this plant occurs during the period from June to the autumn months.

Under natural conditions, the plantain average is found on the territory of Ukraine, the European part of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Western Transcaucasia, Western and Eastern Siberia, as well as the Okhotsk region and the Kuril Islands in the Far East. Description of the medicinal properties of the average plantain

Medium plantain is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the seeds, roots and leaves of this plant. The presence of such healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of higher fatty linoleic acid and steroids in the roots of this plant, while the leaves will contain phenolcarboxylic acids, carbohydrates and related compounds. In the seeds of the middle plantain, there is beta-sitosterol, triglycerides of linoleic and oleic acids, iridoid aucubin, as well as fatty oil, which, in turn, contains elaidic acid.

Medium plantain is endowed with a very valuable wound healing, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, analgesic and antiseptic effect, and will also improve metabolism and enhance the secretory activity of the stomach. An infusion prepared on the basis of the leaves of this plant contributes to a more effective liquefaction of sputum when coughing: for this reason, such an infusion is used for various diseases of the respiratory organs, which will be accompanied by a large secretion of mucous sputum: including whooping cough, bronchitis and pulmonary tuberculosis.

As for traditional medicine, here this plant is very widespread. A decoction, prepared on the basis of leaves of the average plantain, is recommended for use in pleurisy, pulmonary tuberculosis, stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers. A decoction based on the roots of this plant is used externally for toothaches, while poultices in milk are used for abscesses. An infusion based on leaves of plantain medium should be used for hepatitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, as well as stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers.

The powder and seeds of this plant can be used as a laxative, as well as an anti-inflammatory agent for stomach and duodenal ulcers, as well as for colitis. Subject to proper application, such a healing agent will be very effective.
