Description of medium wintergreen

The average wintergreen is a perennial herb, the height of which is about ten to thirty centimeters. This plant is endowed with a highly branched and rather thin rhizome, which is painted in brown tones. In the nodes of such a rhizome there are adventitious roots, and also the development of aerial shoots occurs. At the base of such shoots, there will be rosettes of leathery leaves, which can be either rounded-oval or rounded. The height of the flower shoots will be about ten to thirty-three centimeters, they will carry one scaly sharp leaf either below the middle, or exactly in the middle. Such shoots of the average wintergreen will end with a cluster of flowers. The corolla is half-open, it is painted in white tones, and at the base it is pinkish. The petals fold almost like a ball and are rounded in shape. The length of such petals will be about six to eight millimeters, and the width will be equal to five to six millimeters. The length of the box of the average wintergreen reaches four to five millimeters, and its width turns out to be equal to seven to eight millimeters.

The flowering of the average wintergreen falls on the period from June to the month of July. Under natural conditions, this plant can be found on the territory of the European part of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, as well as in Western Siberia and the Yenisei region of Eastern Siberia. For growth, the average wintergreen prefers coniferous forests, but it is extremely rare that this plant can also be found in deciduous forests. It should be noted that almost everywhere the average wintergreen will grow absent-mindedly.

Description of the medicinal properties of the average wintergreen

The average wintergreen is endowed with quite valuable healing properties, but it should be noted that the chemical composition of this plant has not yet been fully studied. For the same reason, there are not so many methods of medicinal use of the average wintergreen.

As for traditional medicine, both a decoction and an infusion prepared on the basis of the herb of medium wintergreen have been widely used. Such funds are used as astringent and wound healing agents, while being distinguished by a rather high degree of effectiveness. As for Chinese medicine, decoctions and infusions based on medium wintergreen have also been used here. Chinese medicine uses decoctions and infusions of medium wintergreen in the form of an expectorant.

With dysentery, the use of medium wintergreen is also quite effective: to prepare such a remedy, you will need to take one tablespoon of dry crushed herb of this plant in one glass of water. It is recommended to boil the resulting mixture over a fairly low heat for four to five minutes, after which this mixture is left to infuse for an hour or two hours. Finally, the medium-sized wintergreen mixture is carefully strained. It is recommended to take such a remedy one to two tablespoons three times a day. It is noteworthy that in order to achieve the greatest degree of effectiveness of such a remedy, one should not only follow all the rules for the preparation of such a remedy, but also strictly observe the procedure for its intake.

It should be noted that this plant can also be useful for accelerating wound healing: in this case, it is recommended to apply fresh chopped herb of medium wintergreen on the wound surface.
