Highlander spread out is one of the plants of the family called buckwheat, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Polygonum divaricatus L. As for the name of the family of the mountaineer spread out, in Latin it will be like this: Polygonaceae Juss.

Description of the highlander spread out

Highlander is a perennial, spreading, branchy plant, the height of which will reach about one hundred and twenty centimeters. In outline, this plant forms spherical bushes, the leaves are oblong-linear and sharp, and their length is about five to twelve centimeters, and the width will be about seven to twenty five millimeters. The inflorescence of Knotweed is a large, spreading and multi-flowered panicle.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from July to August. Under natural conditions, the highlander can be found on the territory of Ukraine, Belarus, Eastern Siberia, in Primorye and Priamurye in the Far East, as well as in the northwestern regions of the European part of Russia. For growth, this plant prefers forest-steppe and steppe areas, while in the crops the knotweed is found as a weed.

Description of the medicinal properties of the sprawling mountaineer

The sprawling highlander is endowed with rather valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the roots of this plant for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties is explained by the content of tannins, anthocyanins, gallic acid, and also catechins in the roots: the maximum content of catechins is observed during the budding of this plant. In the aerial part of the highlander sparse there will be saponins, carotene, catechins, tannins, vitamin C, as well as caffeic and gallic phenol carboxylic acids. In addition, the following flavonoids are also found in the aerial part: rutin, hyperin, kaempferol, myricetin, quercetin, quercetin 3-glucoside and avicularin. The leaves of Knotweed also contain tannins and the following flavonoids: rutin, hyperin, kaempferol, myricetin and quercetin. The seeds of this plant contain tannins, and the inflorescences of this plant also contain flavonoids.

It should be noted that the roots of the Knotweed are considered an excellent raw material for obtaining tannins. As for traditional medicine, here the crushed root of this plant is applied to colds, and it is recommended to drink the broth for diarrhea and intestinal diseases: namely, for enterocolitis and colitis.

For colitis, diarrhea and enterocolitis, it is recommended to prepare the following remedy: for its preparation, one tablespoon of crushed dry roots of this plant is taken per three hundred milliliters of water. This mixture should be boiled over a fairly low heat for about five to six minutes, and then left to infuse for one hour, then strain thoroughly. Take such a remedy one third of a glass about two to three times a day. Also, this tool will also be effective for rinsing the mouth with periodontal disease. In addition, such a decoction of crushed dry roots is also effective for rinsing the mouth with alveolar pyorrhea.

It is noteworthy that in culture this plant is used as a tanning and fodder plant. It should be noted that the yield of this plant will approximately double when grown in the most favorable conditions for that. It is important to remember that all the healing properties of the Knotweed are not yet fully understood, so we can expect that new ways of using this plant may soon appear.
