The corolla of the swertia is blunt colored in dirty purple tones, but it can rarely be white, and its blades are about twelve to fifteen millimeters. The capsule of this plant is oblong-ovoid in shape, and the seeds will be large and kidney-shaped, while they will be two to two and a half millimeters in diameter.
The bloom of the swertia blunt falls on the period from July to October. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Central Asia, Altai region of Western Siberia, Zavolzhsky region of Bashkiria, as well as Daursky, Yenisei and Angara-Sayan regions of Eastern Siberia. For growth, this plant prefers swampy banks of rivers and streams, wet meadows, placers, rocky slopes, mountain tundra, mid-mountain and upper mountain belt.
