Description of the splayed elecampane

Spread elecampane is a biennial herbaceous fluffy tomentose plant endowed with a round branchy stem. The leaves of this plant are oval or oblong-elliptical in shape, they will be finely toothed, while the lower leaves are endowed with petioles, and the stem leaves are sessile and taper towards the base. The flowers of the splayed elecampane form numerous heads, which curl into a branched and corymbose panicle. The marginal flowers are ligulate, the middle ones will be bisexual, as well as tubular and brownish in color. There are only five stamens of this plant, they are soldered with threads into a tube, a column endowed with a bipartite stigma passes through such a tube. The ovary of this plant is unilocular and lower. The fruit of the splayed elecampane is a fluffy achene.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from June to the month of July. In natural conditions, splayed elecampane can be found on the territory of Ukraine, Belarus, Crimea, the Caucasus, as well as in the southern regions of Russia, in central and southern Europe. For growth, this plant prefers shrubs, forest meadows, forests, places along the river banks and limestone and rocky soil.

Description of the medicinal properties of splay elecampane

Elecampane spread out is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes leaves, stems and flower baskets of a splayed elecampane. It is recommended to procure such raw materials during the month of June-July. It should be noted that the chemical composition of this plant has not yet been fully studied, but it has been precisely established that essential oil is present in the composition of this plant.
