Pinnate plantain is an annual herb, the height of which will fluctuate between two and forty centimeters. Such a plant will be endowed with several or many flower arrows. The inflorescences of this plant are narrow, they will be cylindrical and endowed with appressed hairs. The lobes of the corolla of pinnate plantain can be either oblong-ovate or ovoid, they amount to about one millimeter. The fruit of this plant is a three to five seed box, the seeds themselves will be double-convex and elliptical, and such seeds are colored brown.

Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Central Asia, Eastern Transcaucasia and Dagestan in the Caucasus, as well as in the Crimea. For growth, plantain pinnate prefers places near the sea coast, dry slopes, sands, salt licks and pebbles.

Description of the medicinal properties of plantain pinnate

Pinnate plantain is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the entire aerial part of this plant for medicinal purposes.

The presence of such valuable healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of higher fatty acids and the following steroids in the roots of this plant: sitosterol, cholesterol, campesterol and stigmasterol. The seeds of the plantain pinnate will contain tannins, steroids, iridoid aucubin, saponins and fatty oil, which in turn contains lipoic, oleic and linolenic acids.

An infusion prepared on the basis of the aerial part of this plant is recommended for use in case of diarrhea, and also used as a diuretic, hemostatic and detoxifying agent for bites of rabid dogs.

In case of food poisoning, it is recommended to use the following very healing remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a very effective remedy, you will need to take one tablespoon of chopped plantain pinnate leaves in one glass of boiled water. The resulting healing mixture should be infused for about one hour, after which such a mixture based on this plant should be very thoroughly filtered.
