Povoy fence is one of the plants of the family called bindweed, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Calistegia sepium (L.) R. Br. As for the name of the family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Convolvulaceae Juss.

Description of the intake

Povy fence is a perennial bare plant endowed with a horizontal rhizome, the length of which reaches three meters. The stems of this plant are long, curly and weak. The leaves of the new fence can be either triangular-ovate or triangular, they are endowed with a rather sharp top and angular leaves, and at the very base such leaves will be heart-shaped. The flowers of the fence are painted pink or white, while the length of the bracts will be about three centimeters. The length of the corolla of this plant is four to six centimeters, and the box itself will be rounded in shape.

The flowering of the fence falls in the summer period. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Central Asia, Crimea, Belarus, Ukraine, Daurskiy region of Eastern Siberia, all regions of Western Siberia with the exception of only the Ob region, as well as also in all regions of the European part of Russia, except for the Dvinsko-Pechora and Karelo- Murmansk. For growth, this plant prefers swamps, places near trees, among reeds, near fences, in gardens, fields, thickets of shrubs, irrigation canals, river banks, oxbows, irrigation ditches, lakes and streams, starting from lowlands and ending with a mid-mountain belt. It is noteworthy that the new fence is not only a very valuable melliferous plant, but is also an ornamental plant.

Description of the medicinal properties of the intake

Fence is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the roots, rhizomes and grass of this plant. Grass includes the stems, flowers and leaves of this plant. The presence of such valuable healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of alkaloids, tannins, steroid saponins, vitamin C and flavonoids in this plant.

It should be noted that medicinal products based on this plant are widely used in Chinese medicine. Here, a decoction is used, prepared on the basis of rhizomes and roots of the pickle as a tonic, laxative, emollient and diuretic. Also, in the same capacity, this remedy was used by the ancient Greeks and Romans. As far as homeopathy is concerned, here the roots and rhizomes are used as a laxative.

In folk medicine, a decoction and infusion are used, prepared on the basis of the roots and rhizomes of this plant. Such medicinal agents are used as an analgesic, hemostatic, laxative and wound healing agent. In addition, such funds are also used for fever, ascites and scurvy. It should be noted that in China, the rhizomes of this plant are eaten in boiled form. An infusion based on the herb of this plant is indicated for use in diarrhea. In Central Asia, powdered grass in the form of a powder is used as a very effective wound-healing agent, in particular, such a remedy is recommended for use in case of burns.

It should be noted that the herb extract of this plant is endowed with a very valuable antitumor activity. For furunculosis, fresh leaves are used, and such leaves are also used as an analgesic and wound healing agent. From the stems of this plant, yarn and fiber are obtained.
