Stem leaves of this plant will be alternate, oblong-lanceolate, sessile, they are endowed with ears, can be either notched-toothed, or whole-edged. The upper leaves of the shepherd's purse will be almost linear and stalk-embracing, they are endowed with a sagittal base. The flowers of this plant will be small in size, they are painted in white tones, are located on spaced pedicels, and also gather in racemose inflorescences, which initially seem to be umbrella-shaped. The fruit of a shepherd's purse is a pod endowed with small flattened, elliptical seeds, colored in light brown tones, the length of such seeds will be about one millimeter, while the length of the fruit itself will be equal to about five to eight millimeters. The fruits of the shepherd's purse are quite numerous; they ripen from the bottom of the inflorescence.
