Siberian threadleaf is one of the plants of the family called Asteraceae or Compositae, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Filifolium sibiricum (L). Kitam. Description of Siberian thread-leaf

Siberian threadwort is also known under the name of Siberian tansy. Siberian threadwort is a perennial herb, endowed with a thickened oblique rhizome, the height of which will fluctuate between twenty and sixty centimeters. The stems of this plant will be obtusely ribbed and erect, at the tops in the inflorescence itself, such stems are branched, they can be both few and single. At the very base, the stems of Siberian thread-leaf will be covered with a thick layer of coarse-fibrous remnants of leaf petioles. The leaves of this plant will be basal and dense green in color, their length will reach twenty centimeters, and the width will be approximately five to six centimeters. Such leaves of this plant will be on long petioles, the plates in their outlines can be from obovate to linear-oblong, they can be twice or three times pinnately dissected. The end lobules are lily-filamentous, their width reaches one millimeter, and their length is four centimeters. They will be endowed with edges more or less wrapped on the lower side, and at the top such an edge will be pointed. There are only one to five stem leaves of Siberian threadwort, they will be similar to basal leaves, however, they will be on more or less short petioles: to almost sessile and entire upper ones. There will be from one to fifteen baskets, they are assembled in a simple or complex thick shield, the wrapper will be about four to five millimeters in diameter, and the width will be the same. In bisexual flowers, corollas will be painted in yellowish tones, the fruits of Siberian thread-leaf are light-brownish achenes, the maximum length of which will be two and a half millimeters, and the width will be equal to two millimeters.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from July to September. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the Daursky and Angara-Sayan regions of Eastern Siberia, as well as in Western Primorye and Priamurye in the Far East.

Description of the medicinal properties of Siberian thread-leaf

Siberian threadwort is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes the leaves, flowers and stems of this plant. Such raw materials should be harvested throughout the entire flowering period of the Siberian thread-leaf.

The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of vitamin P and ascorbic acid in this plant.

As for traditional medicine, here a decoction prepared on the basis of Siberian threadwort herb is recommended for use with palpitations, high fever, neurasthenia, menstrual irregularities, insomnia and heavy menstruation. An infusion based on the herb of this plant should be used as an anticonvulsant, and also used for choking. It is noteworthy that there is also a slight positive effect of this herb in cholecystitis and hepatitis.

In the form of an ointment, powder and decoction, externally Siberian threadworm is used for various purulent inflammations.
