Description of onoclea

Onoclea is the name of the genus of tropical ferns. It should be noted that only one plant species of this genus is suitable for breeding and cultivation in areas where the climate will be temperate.

The leaves are arranged oppositely, such leaves are serrated. It is worth noting that the leaves have the ability to change their color throughout the season: in the spring period of time, these leaves are pink, and already at the beginning of summer they change their color to light green. Spore-bearing leaves or sporophylls are painted in red tones, they reach a height of sixty centimeters. The appearance of such leaves occurs closer to the autumn period of time. The plant is highly resistant to cold winter temperatures, for this reason no shelter is required for the winter. In addition, sensitive onoclea also has the ability to grow very well, while a very dense cover is formed, painted in green tones.

Description of the features of growing onoclea

It should be noted that onoklea is a rather undemanding plant to care for. Nevertheless, in order for the onoclea to develop more favorably, it will be necessary to select moist areas for planting this plant, which, among other things, will also be in the shade. With regard to the choice of soil cover, soils must be constantly kept moist and sufficiently compact. It is important to note that this plant is able to thrive even in very swampy areas, and besides this, onoclea will grow very successfully in shallow water.
