Today you can buy anything in the store. But all the same, the hostesses continue to make preparations for future use. This also applies to the preparation of tomato juice at home. Of course, you have to tinker with it, but it's worth it. Many housewives use a juicer to make tomato juice at home. But people in the know advise not to do this, tk. the juicer squeezes out only the juice, and the healthy pulp is thrown away along with the seeds and skin. It is best to grind the tomatoes through a sieve

Making tomato juice at home

Each housewife chooses the amount of ingredients herself. It is enough just to know that 1 liter of juice comes out of 1.5 kg of tomatoes. Salt and sugar are usually added in equal proportions. This volume will require 2 tsp. sugar and salt.

Once again, I repeat that the most delicious and thick juice is the one that is prepared by hand, and not using a juicer.

Ripe fleshy fruits are suitable for juicing. They must be thoroughly washed under running water and cut into pieces. Put everything in a saucepan and cook over low heat. There is no need to add water: during the heating process, a sufficient amount of juice will be released from the fruits. Periodically, the fruits need to be mixed. The better the tomatoes are boiled, the easier it will be to grind them through a sieve. A fine metal sieve works best. If this is not the case, then a large one will do, only inside you need to put more gauze folded in several layers. You need to grind as thoroughly as possible, then the juice will turn out to be the thickest. Add the required amount of salt and sugar to the resulting grated mass and put it on the fire again. By the way, lovers of aromatic juice with an unusual taste can, in addition to salt and sugar, add a little cinnamon, allspice or red pepper, cloves, nutmeg or a couple of teaspoons of parsley juice to the pan. Bring the tomato mass to a boil and pour boiling into jars. Jars and lids should be sterilized beforehand. Roll up the jars, turn over and leave to cool completely. You can store such blanks at room temperature.

It happens that during storage, the pulp separates and settles to the bottom. You should not be upset, you need to shake the jar well, and the consistency of the juice will be restored.

The use of tomato juice

In addition to the fact that you will be happy to drink tomato juice in winter, it can be used in the preparation of cabbage rolls, borscht, stuffed peppers, etc. In addition, tomato juice can be used as a preservative: roll peeled tomatoes in it (the so-called tomatoes in their own juice), sweet peppers.
