Fragrant rosemary is more to their liking a hot climate, but lovers of Mediterranean aromas grow the plant in flower pots, or even outdoors, protecting the bush from the cold wind and high humidity at low temperatures
Rod Rosemary
Low evergreen shrubs, exuding a refreshing aroma, are combined into a genus
Rosemary (Rosmarinus).
Among the representatives of the genus there are healers, perfumers and culinary specialists who supply people with medicines, aromatic cosmetics and spicy seasonings for exquisite dishes.

Growing
Perhaps the love of the warm climate is Rosemary's only whim. Loamy soil, including lime, is suitable for him, as long as it is loose and with good drainage.
The planting site is preferably sunny, but, given the need for protection from the cold wind, the bushes are often planted near the wall of the house, condemning Rosemary to partial shade, against which the plant does not protest.
Gardeners manage to replace the love of drought and the hot sun with additional protection of the plant from low temperatures by planting on the south side of the house and covering the bush with transparent protective materials.
A drought-resistant plant in the open field does without additional watering, and when growing in pots, watering is carried out when the soil dries out. For potted plants, liquid fertilizer is added to the irrigation water every couple of months.
The plant easily tolerates shearing, which is used when creating hedges from Rosemary, or when growing bonsai. In other cases, cutting is necessary to remove branches damaged by winter frosts or dry branches.
Reproduction
Rosemary can be easily propagated by summer or autumn woody cuttings, which are planted for rooting either in containers filled with a substrate of sand and peat, or straight into open ground.
When grown in pots, containers that have become cramped are changed to more spacious ones in the spring, filling them with a similar soil.
Ready-made plants are not uncommon in shops selling garden crops. As for decorative species, it is better to contact flower nurseries for them.
Enemies
Rosemary has two main enemies - frost and excess moisture. Frost kills shoots, and excess moisture provokes root rot.
Soil with a low iron content provokes leaf chlorosis.
