Today, yellow tulips have turned into messengers of separation, and there were other times on Earth. In a yellow tulip, the Creator hid human happiness, which no one could reach. And only a carefree chance helped to open tightly closed petals so that people would meet with happiness
Carefree children's laughter
Human history remembers the names of the generals who dreamed of conquering the whole world. At all times, the sword and volleys of deadly fire were the weapon of conquest. Until now, people cannot realize that it is impossible to subdue anyone with such methods. They can only be destroyed. Destroy people, destroy the fruits of their labor, burn even the breadwinner - the earth, but none of the ambitious people has yet succeeded in conquering the souls of people.
Although the legends composed by Mankind have long found a magic key that can conquer not only human hearts, but also reveal natural secrets. One of these legends tells that happiness is very easy to get to. This does not require a deadly weapon. The key to happiness is laid by the Almighty in every person at birth. But not everyone can find this key.
In one Eastern country, where people lived poorly and dreamed of happiness, there was a rumor that happiness was hidden in a golden tulip bud, which tightly closed its petals, hiding under them the most cherished dream of all people on Earth.
No matter how much the brave conquerors of the lands rattled with a terrible weapon, the flower did not open its petals. All miracles are accidental. Once a woman walked by a flower with a child whose name history has not preserved. Like all children, the child loved life and freedom. Breaking free from the strong embrace of his mother, the boy ran to the yellow tulip and, enchanted by the golden radiance, laughed loudly and joyfully.
From the carefree cheerful laughter of the child, the petals trembled and opened, showing people the long-awaited happiness.
From the depths of millennia
The age of the "cultured" tulip is not exactly known. The oldest image of tulips, known today from archaeological excavations, dates back to a thousand years ago.
On a cape made of silk fabric, which is no less than a thousand years old, belonging to the Chinese emperor, the hand of a craftswoman embroidered a scattering of tulips with a looped seam. Although modern Chinese, great lovers of flowers, do not show much interest in tulips.
Perhaps the birthplace of cultivated tulips is Persia. Persian fables written in the XI-XII centuries are the first written sources in which tulips are mentioned. And the name of the flower is similar to the name of the oriental headdress "turban", which looks like a flower.
Turkish tulips
Tulips flourished in Turkey in the middle of the 16th century. Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent became famous not only for his conquests of foreign territories, having managed to create the strongest Muslim empire, but also for his love of poetry, painting, architecture and flowers. His gardens greeted spring with hundreds of thousands of tulips. It was in Turkey that they began to engage in the selection of tulips, turning plants into more resistant to bad weather, expanding the color gamut and plant height.
Dutch tulips
Having moved from Turkey to Austria, tulips begin their journey across Europe. They penetrate England, France, Germany, Flanders.
The climatic and soil conditions of Holland were to the liking of tulips. From the end of the 16th century to the present day, Dutch flower growers have always been the leaders in the cultivation of tulip bulbs and flowers.
In the 17th century, Holland was seized by an "epidemic" recorded in history as "tulip mania". The cost of one tulip bulb of certain varieties was equal to the cost of a horse, a decent-sized plot of land and other vital things and products.
Tulips in Russia
From Holland, tulips reached Russia, where at first they settled in the gardens of wealthy people.
Today, not a single summer cottage can do without tulips. City flower beds are decorated with tulips.
