Siberian iris
An amazing flower that can grow in the same area without transplanting for three decades! It is quite unpretentious, forms large clumps and is not at all afraid of an excess of moisture in the soil, which makes it a suitable plant for planting in damp areas and in coastal zones of various reservoirs. Fertile and moisture-consuming soils are best suited for the development of Siberian iris, and the area where this beautiful flower is planned to be planted should be sufficiently well lit. This plant does not require care as such, the main thing is to mulch its rhizomes in a timely manner with high-quality compost, which allows to avoid their exposure and freezing in winter.
Day-lily
The highest decorative qualities of the daylily allow you to instantly decorate even the most ordinary-looking corner of the garden! This plant feels equally well both in the sun and in partial shade, and the soil for its cultivation can be absolutely any. True, the daylily will still not refuse good feeding. For the winter, you also need not cover it, and this plant tolerates a moisture deficit perfectly. And mulch will definitely help to keep the minimum amount of moisture.
Hosta
This is the real queen among all currently existing ornamental deciduous plants. The host will be appropriate in absolutely any compositions, while in all cases it will not only retain its highest decorativeness and impeccable appearance, but also emphasize the spectacularity of its neighbors!
The common hosta grows well and develops in the shade or in partial shade. As for variegated varieties, in order for their leaves not to lose their variegation, they need to provide adequate lighting. And the soil for growing hostas should be sufficiently fertile and loose. Young bushes need systematic watering, and older specimens can boast of a fairly high drought resistance. However, in both cases, the host needs to provide adequate protection against slugs.
Astilba
Another very advantageous version of a perennial for flower beds, because astilbe does not lose its decorative effect not only during the flowering period, but throughout the season, and its fancy openwork leaves will become a real decoration of any corner of the garden!
Astilbe is usually planted in the shade or in partial shade, since the heat has a depressing effect on it and the beautiful plant fades very quickly. And the soil for growing these beautiful flowers should not only be fertile, but also generously seasoned with compost (up to thirty to forty centimeters deep).
In dry weather, a beautiful plant needs abundant watering, but if it is mulched, this problem will not be so acute. And the best companion for astilba will be aruncus (that is, Volzhanka), since both plants put forward exactly the same requirements for growing conditions.
And, of course, do not forget about such popular flowers as phlox, stonecrop, primrose, rudbeckia, chrysanthemums and asters - all of them are able to quickly and easily transform any flower garden!
