What is the benefit?

It not only perfectly stimulates the growth of plants and their rapid development, but also significantly increases the fruiting of various crops, without having a detrimental effect on the quality of the crop. It also noticeably increases the resistance of the crops grown to a wide variety of negative factors and protects them from a number of dangerous bacterial ailments, and the fruits grown with its use can boast of the ability to be stored for quite a long time. Completely dissolving in water, ammonium nitrate quickly and effectively saturates the soil with microelements that are useful for plants!
True, ammonium nitrate has a drawback - this is its acidity: the regular use of this substance on acidic soils will inevitably entail a significant decrease in yield. To avoid such a nuisance, it is recommended to neutralize the acidity of the soil with dolomite and lime taken in equal proportions. And since ammonium nitrate is also an explosive material, it is extremely important to try in every possible way to avoid overheating it.
Features of use
For use in the country, ammonium nitrate is selected taking into account climatic characteristics, soil composition and plant species. In general, it is suitable for use on any soils, only too acidic soils will need to be deoxidized periodically. If the soil is sandy, then under the influence of ammonium nitrate, its composition will remain practically unchanged, and on podzolic soils, it can be used to achieve an acidifying effect. As for heavy clay soils, it is better to add ammonium nitrate to them exclusively in the autumn-spring time.
Ammonium nitrate is ideal for fertilizing berry bushes and fruit trees. Quite often, it is fertilized with it and the soil when planting a huge amount of vegetables and grain crops, moreover, ammonium nitrate will be an excellent growth stimulator for weakly growing flowers and for a number of indoor crops. By the way, the fact that when using this wonderful assistant as a top dressing, you can easily increase the yield by forty to fifty percent, has long been scientifically proven!
Ammonium nitrate can be added to the soil both in dry form and in previously dissolved form. Moreover, each top dressing must necessarily be accompanied by sufficiently generous and abundant watering. Another important nuance is that thirty grams of ammonium nitrate is usually added to cultivated soils for each square meter of the plot, and if the soil is severely depleted, then this rate is increased to forty to fifty grams. But for foliar dressing, the use of ammonium nitrate is not recommended - it can lead to leaf burns.
And a little about the timing. It is best to fertilize plants with ammonium nitrate in the spring, at the very beginning of the growing season, before flowering. In the second half of summer, experienced summer residents do not recommend resorting to nitrogen-containing fertilizing, since such an approach can provoke the growth of shoots to the detriment of the formation of fruits. It is recommended to feed vegetable crops with ammonium nitrate twice: first before the start of flowering, and then after the formation of fruits. And for garden trees, a single feeding, which is given immediately after the first leaves appear on these trees, will be quite enough.
