Such a simple and uncomplicated product as table salt can be found in every kitchen and in absolutely any dacha. But salt can be used quite safely not only for cooking - with no less success it can be used for other purposes, moreover, there are even very non-standard options for its use! This affordable and affordable tool for everyone can boast of a fairly high efficiency in the garden or in the garden! So why can a summer resident use table salt?

Fight against harmful insects

Table salt is an excellent remedy for preventing onion plantings from being damaged by a gluttonous onion fly: young onions about five centimeters high are sprayed with freshly prepared saline for preventive purposes (one teaspoon of salt is taken for each liter of water). Ten days after the first spraying, the procedure is repeated, and for the third time a similar spraying is carried out in July. Exactly the same treatments are carried out to prevent attacks by sprout, beet or cabbage flies, however, in the latter cases, the solution is prepared at the rate of three tablespoons of salt for every ten liters of water.

There is also a more aggressive option for getting rid of the above pests - first, sprinkle the soil with salt, while spending about a kilogram of salt for every ten square meters of area, after which the soil is abundantly watered. This approach allows you to destroy both harmful larvae and preserve the plantings.

Ants also harm garden plants - these insects, completely harmless in appearance, not only breed aphids, but also very willingly feast on some root crops, flowers and berries. And getting rid of them is not always easy and simple! But salt helps very well in this matter - you just need to sprinkle it on the ant paths and the anthill itself, and these insects will soon leave the site on their own.

Salt also helps to cope well with slugs - if suddenly large accumulations of such animals were noticed on the compost heap, when establishing dry weather, it is recommended to generously sprinkle their paths with salt. And after a while, uninvited guests will disappear! If slugs have firmly settled in flower beds with beds, then this method should be taken with the utmost care, since if salt is too generously scattered over flower beds or beds, the risk of salting the soil becomes very high.

And in order to protect garden trees from the apple moth or scabbard, it is recommended to spray them with a saline solution prepared at the rate of one kilogram of salt per ten liters of water. Such spraying is carried out exclusively in early spring, before the buds begin to bloom on the trees, or in late autumn. And in the event that it rained almost immediately after the procedure, the spraying must be repeated!

It is quite possible to stop the spread of harmful phytophthora with the help of table salt, which especially often affects eggplants, peppers, potatoes and tomatoes. One kilogram of salt is diluted in ten liters of water and the garden crops attacked by the ill-fated ailment are sprayed with the resulting solution. As a result, the plants should shed damaged leaves, and the fruits should be covered with a salt protective film. By the way, with no less success, this method can be used to combat some other fungal ailments!

If it becomes necessary to protect the onion plantings from rust or downy mildew, it is recommended to soak the seedlings for several hours in a salt solution prepared at the rate of two hundred grams of salt for each ten-liter bucket of water. Such a procedure will also please with pleasant "bonuses" - onion sprouting will accelerate significantly, and its immunity will noticeably strengthen!
