Seedlings purchased in the spring that did not wake up should be stored in the basement before planting. But, if the buds began to grow ahead of time, they are planted for growing in pots. Moisture-intensive soil is selected, but without stagnant water. It should be wet all the time. As containers, you can use plastic buckets, about 15 liters. Use a large drill to drill 10-14 holes in the bottom of each container. After all, the bucket is lined with a dense non-woven material, the drainage is poured with a layer of 5-6 cm. On top of the drainage there is a non-woven material again, then soil is poured
Landing features
Saplings that were growing are transplanted from pots into containers. All other seedlings are placed in a container with water for a day, to which any growth stimulator is added (novosil, HB-101, silk, zircon, etc.). The root system of roses is designed in such a way that they are reluctant to leave the "mother" substrate, therefore, before planting, they loosen the earthen lump. With self-rooted roses, when planting in a container, there are no problems, the main thing is to bury the roots 5 cm into the ground. But for grafted seedlings, in order to place them in a container, sometimes you have to get rid of some of the roots. This slows down the development of the plant somewhat. Nutrient soil is poured into the container (one part of sod, leafy soil and humus 0.5 parts of coarse sand or small pebbles). Add "long-playing" fertilizers (1 tsp on top of a bucket, evenly distribute over the substrate). The graft is deepened by 5-6 cm. The container is filled with soil mixture not to the brim, watered at the rate of 5 liters per bucket. After the soil settles, the plantings are mulched with humus, compost.
At the installation site of the container, soil is removed to a depth of 15 cm. The pit is filled with drainage (broken brick, gravel, crushed stone). An empty bucket is placed as a template and the first tire is put on it, the space inside it is filled with various debris (tops, straw, branches), watered and compacted well. The second tire is installed on the first tire with a cut off upper rim. Fill it with nutritious soil and water it well (2 buckets of water). Two days later, when the soil settles, they take out the template bucket and put a container with a seedling in its place. It should protrude 4-6 cm above the soil surface. If it sinks, it is necessary to add drainage.
Summer care
In hot dry weather, watered every day in the evening at the rate of 3 liters of warm water per bush. But even if it rains, it is necessary to water the plantings at least once a week. Drainage helps, more precisely, saves from waterlogging. It is worth starting to feed one month after planting (once a week) with liquid organomineral fertilizers ("Universal", "Rose" or "Kemira. Lux" according to the instructions the next day after watering, in the morning). The last summer top dressing is usually done in mid-August with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers, or “Kemira. Autumn ". Chemicals are used against pests and diseases.
Bloom until frost
Roses, especially hybrid tea, can bloom all summer. If August and September are warm, then around the tenths of September it is necessary to give one more phosphorus-potassium dressing. Flowers that have faded should not be removed, as the shoots fade better. Throughout the summer and autumn, foliar dressings are made with stimulants (epin, HB-101, novosil, humate or zircon - who has what is available, but it is best to alternate 2-3 preparations). In early October, roses bloom in all their glory. At this time, they are not so afraid of the first frosts as the long autumn rains. During bad weather, the containers can be brought into the greenhouse, then returned to their original place. After the first severe frosts up to 5-7 degrees, they are finally transferred to the greenhouse. You can put old buckets in the vacated places so that you don't have to cook everything again in the spring.
