Bacopa carolina (lat. Bacopa caroliniana) Is an aquatic plant belonging to the Aroid family.
Description
Bacopa Karolinska is a very spectacular long-stemmed plant endowed with oval and rather juicy bright green leaves sitting in pairs on stems, the length of which can reach two and a half centimeters.
The leaves of this aquatic inhabitant are characterized by greenish-yellowish shades. And with increased illumination, the upper shoots can also be painted in delicate pinkish or copper-brownish shades.
The flowers of Bacopa Karolinska are relatively small and have an incredibly delicate look. All of them are endowed with five petals and boast a pleasant pale purple or bluish color.
Where grows
Bacopa Carolina feels great both in salt and fresh water bodies located on the picturesque Atlantic coast of Central or South America.
Usage
Rare unpretentiousness and the ability to reproduce very quickly made Caroline Bacopa a desirable prey for aquarists. Most often it is planted in artificial reservoirs, where it grows excellently throughout the year.
Growing and caring
Bacopa Caroline should ideally be grown in well-lit tropical aquariums. However, moderately warm aquariums will also appeal to her. Best of all, this aquatic inhabitant will grow at temperatures from twenty to twenty-six degrees. If the water is cooler, then its growth will slow down, and the oldest leaves will gradually begin to rot.
As for aquariums, it is best to prefer not very deep containers for breeding Karolinska Bacopa (a depth of twenty-five to thirty centimeters will be more than enough). It will also grow well in humid greenhouses or in paludariums - in both cases it is slightly flooded.
The water for growing this culture should be soft, with a slightly acidic or neutral reaction. At the same time, it can be both fresh and old - all kinds of organic compounds accumulating in aquariums do not in any way affect the growth quality of Caroline Bacopa and do not even inhibit it. In addition, the leaves of this aquatic culture can boast of a surprisingly high resistance to fouling, and they are also very resistant to the settling of various mineral and organic particles. But if the water hardness indicator exceeds the value of six to eight degrees, then the Caroline Bacopa will begin to noticeably shallow, and its leaves can be deformed without much difficulty.
The aquarium soil should be selected moderately silted - the fact is that the root system of this plant is very poorly developed, and therefore the lion's share of its nutrition is taken directly from the water. And in the role of a substrate, tiny pebbles or sand spread out in a layer of two to four centimeters can act. This aquatic beauty does not require additional mineral supplements - she has enough of various nutrient compounds supplied with fresh water or with food for fish.
Lighting for growing Bacopa Karolinska should be as bright as possible - in excessively deep containers, it often experiences discomfort precisely from a lack of light. If the depth of the aquarium is more than thirty centimeters, then it is best to install it on small shelves raised closer to the lighting fixtures in smaller containers. However, it is perfectly acceptable to equip the aquarium with side lighting. Natural light is very useful for this aquatic inhabitant, and slightly diffused sunlight will generally be the most ideal option.
This plant propagates by cuttings of stems. As soon as the separated apical shoots reach ten to fifteen centimeters in length, without waiting for the formation of roots, they are immediately planted in the ground - this will allow the lower whorls of the leaves to deeply deepen. And after a while, roots will begin to form at their bases.

Bacopa
Bacopa quite unpretentious in care and belongs to the family called Norichnikovye. The homeland of the plant is South Africa and the Canary Islands. Also, this plant can be found under the name of sutera. The flower can creep along the ground cover, acquiring the form of a ground cover and rooting at the same time in each node.

Azolla Carolina
Azolla carolina (lat.Azolla caroliniana) - a floating plant from the Azoll family. This lace moss-like plant can beautify almost any body of water. Description Azolla Caroline is a miniature aquatic plant, the height of which does not exceed one or two centimeters.
Capricious Woolly Bacopa
Woolly Bacopa lives in picturesque Brazilian waters. As a rule, she prefers swampy and humid areas, especially with stagnant water. Sometimes this aquatic beauty is also called hairy bacopa. Despite the fact that woolly Bacopa has been known for a long time and has been grown for quite a long time, it can be seen extremely rarely in stores for aquarists. This is due to the fact that a beautiful aquatic inhabitant is not the best plant for an aquarium, since she is very prick
Azolla Carolina - Marvelous Water Fern
Azolla Carolina grows in nature mainly in South, Central, and also in distant North America. Slow-flowing rivers, ponds and lakes are its favorite habitat.
