Not at every dacha you can find a brick brazier. This is not surprising, because the majority of land plot owners believe that it is impractical to have such a structure due to the high cost of its construction, rare use, and also the considerable space it occupies. However, these fears are far from always justified. A brick brazier erected with your own hands will make the recreation area in the country house more functional and comfortable, decorate the site as a magnificent art object. It will become a favorite place for fun family gatherings, a real magnet that attracts guests. To build a brazier out of bricks on your own is not so expensive and difficult

The construction of a brick barbecue begins with the choice of a place for its construction and the preparation of the materials necessary for this. For the barbecue, which is planned to be operated as a mini-kitchen, a place for a sink should be provided. For construction, you can use a ready-made standard project or develop it yourself, however, fire safety standards should be taken into account.

The brazier is built taking into account the terrain and the wind rose. In addition, he must be at a safe distance from trees, bushes and wooden structures. At the same time, a brick brazier should be located next to the place where they usually rest and have picnics. It is desirable that there is a water source and outbuildings next to it. The best option is considered to be the location of the barbecue in the gazebo for rest, which can protect this structure from rain and wind.

When drawing up a drawing of a brick barbecue, it is necessary to provide compartments for storing coal, firewood, ash, as well as blowing air. If the barbecue is located outside the gazebo, you need to plan a canopy. You should carefully consider where to place the metal grate, lay coals and firewood on top or on the side, the location of the skewer device.

The size of the barbecue can be any - it depends on the capabilities and taste of the owner of the site. The outer dimensions of a classic brick barbecue are 590x1400 millimeters, the internal firebox is one meter long, but the height from the ground to it is selected individually and is equal to the distance from the floor to the owner's wrist. For the construction of such a structure, 300 pieces of oven bricks will be required.

The type of masonry mortar depends on the location of the barbecue. In the gazebo, a clay solution is suitable, and in the open air, heat-resistant cement is needed. Please note that before use, the clay should be soaked in water for two days. To build a barbecue, you will need a certain set of tools and materials. Here is a standard list of them:

* gravel, sand, cement;

* refractory bricks;

* foam concrete, rubble stone, wall blocks;

* reinforcing mesh, reinforcement rods;

* dry adhesive mixtures for shelves, tiles;

* rafters, lathing;

* several sheets of galvanized iron;

* corners, screws, tension bolts, nails.

To this set should be added tools for masonry, foundation and earthwork. When erecting the foundation, waterproofing materials will be required, and moisture-resistant plywood for the formwork.

The construction of a brick barbecue begins with digging a foundation pit. Its size for a classic structure is 0.8 by 1.6 meters at a depth of 0.6 meters. The bottom of the pit must be covered with sand by about ten centimeters. Then the formwork is made, reinforcement is performed and the prepared concrete mixture is poured. It will take several days to dry, after which a waterproofing layer is laid from a special film or roofing material. If it is decided to make a concrete foundation, then first you should lay large stones, then fill them with rubble, and then fill it all with cement mortar.

Before laying bricks, you must soak in water or water them with a hose. Laying begins from the corners, gradually filling the area of the partition. They begin to lay the second row with an offset of half a brick. In order for the structure to be strong, it must be reinforced with a metal mesh every two rows of masonry.

After six or seven rows of masonry, the barbecue is blocked. Then three more rows are laid, in them between the bricks it is necessary to leave gaps without mortar, which will subsequently provide access to combustion air. A place for frying is being built inside, for which reinforcement rods are placed at the base. If the brazier is made with a grill, then to install the grate, it is necessary to lay several bricks with a protrusion inward.

In the tenth row of the structure, valves are placed and ash panes are laid out. In the next one, grates will be installed, for which quarters are cut out from the bricks. In the twelfth row, a ledge is made necessary to support the skewers. In the twenty-first, a corner is laid, and in the twenty-fourth, the formation of a smoke collector begins. The exhaust hood completes the entire structure; it is installed on the last, thirty-third row of masonry.

A brick brazier is ready. Its walls can be faced with natural stone or plaster. The floor is decorated with paving slabs or rubble. The brazier can be supplemented with worktops made of specially treated wood, porcelain stoneware or stone and small cupboards. If the brazier is outside the gazebo, then you need to take care of arranging a weather shed, which is better to foresee in the project. The electric lighting device will complete all work.
