The multi-row bristle is also called the multi-row bristle or the angular multi-row. He came to us from the Caucasus and from the beech forests of Europe. It is a perennial openwork evergreen plant, up to 100 centimeters high, with reduced winter hardiness. The leaves are dark green, large, serrated, with bristles along the edges of the denticles, "sit" on small cuttings. A little clarification: in central Russia, the leaves of this fern may die off for the winter
In this article, I want to continue the fern theme. After all, it is ferns that can transform your garden, create the effect of wild forest nature, decorate any flower bed with their presence and revive your garden plot. The variety of ferns is simply amazing. With all this, ferns are grown quite simply, if you follow simple conditions and take into account all the nuances. Now I want to tell you about one of the most beautiful ferns, which, despite its massive silhouette, amazes with its lacy, almost symmetrical leaves.
The main advantage over many other species of fern is that it does not "creep" over the site, but forms a stable, lush, beautiful ornamental bush.
Features of planting and breeding fern
The bristle-bearing polyrower prefers slightly acidic soils. But at the same time it grows well on fertile ordinary garden soil, therefore it is believed that he is not picky about the soil. The only important condition is that the soil must be constantly moderately moistened. The optimal place for planting it is shaded and semi-shaded areas, the plant dies in the sun. When choosing a place for planting, be sure to pay attention to the fact that the bristle-bearing mnogorodnik does not like the wind, which means that it must be planted in an area protected from the wind.
The fern reproduces by dividing the bush, seedlings and spores. But disputes take a very long time to germinate. In principle, the best way to reproduce is by seedling or dividing an existing bush. Seedlings can be purchased at specialized stores. It is not necessary to buy seedlings for the entire desired area at once, it is enough to plant 1-2 bushes, let them take root well, and after a year you can divide the existing bushes and get new planting material.
Preparing a site for planting
Once again, I want to remind you that the fern loves light soils. Therefore, it is advisable to prepare the soil before planting. I mix peat with a small amount of sand, take 1 part of sand for 3 parts of peat (sand retains moisture well in the soil), scatter it in a fairly thick layer (at least 10 centimeters) over the selected area and loosen the soil well with a walk-behind tractor or dig it up. In the process of loosening (digging), the garden soil will mix with peat and sand.
If for some reason you are not able to carry out the above manipulations, then just carefully loosen the soil and slightly moisten it.
Planting a bristle-bearing mnogoryadnik
We plant in loosened and moistened soil at a distance of about half a meter of arcs from each other. Fern bushes should not be planted very far from each other, if you do not want to get a very rare planting.
Caring for a multi-rower
Fern care is very simple: water on time, cover for the winter, occasionally you can feed, but this is not a prerequisite.
Fern wintering
In Russia, the winters are quite cold, despite the fact that the severe cold does not last long, this time is enough for the fern to die. This means that the plant needs to be covered for the winter. For shelter, dry fallen leaves, spruce branches and special covering material from any hardware store are suitable.
