To reduce the susceptibility of asparagus to rust, it is recommended to spray it with Bordeaux liquid (1%) during the summer season. In the absence of such, it is not forbidden to use some other antifungal compounds. And all branches covered with fungal sporulation must be cut and burned (both in autumn and spring).
Cercospora
On the leaves of asparagus, the formation of dirty white or gray spots occurs, densely covered with a rather dark bloom of fungal sporulation. The harmful plaque consists of pointed and slightly elongated colorless spores, equipped with seven to eight transverse thin septa.
Root rot
As a rule, in most cases, the pathogen enters the asparagus roots with various mechanical damages. In addition to the roots, this ailment can also affect the root necks, which are painted in dark purple or dark brown tones. Both roots and root collars die off rather quickly as a result of damage by this scourge, and their death, in turn, provokes the instant death of aerial parts of plants. If root rot strikes asparagus plantings with special force, then rather solid bald spots will quickly form on the beds.
If the infection is not too strong, it is necessary to treat all areas of the accumulation of a destructive infection with "Fundazol". And after processing, they are isolated using a thick polyethylene film. As for heavily infected areas, it is best to get rid of them, and this should be done as quickly as possible.
Fusarium wilting
When this disease is affected, the shoots first turn yellow, and after a while the whole plant dies off. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to get rid of this misfortune, since it cannot be treated, so you have to dig up the affected cultures and immediately burn them.
