Plants get sick too. Like humans, cucumbers have viral infections, bacterial and fungal diseases. However, if you recognize the infection in time, or even better - if you carry out prevention and prevent conditions conducive to the appearance of diseases, then it is quite possible to harvest the crop without losses

When cucumber leaves are "depressed" and hang like rags

Nature does not have bad weather, but there is weather that promotes the development of fungal diseases. Namely, dampness and cold ground.

Summer has brought big surprises this year with thunderstorms in June. And the cool temperature multiplied by high humidity creates ideal conditions for the development of fungal diseases.

And the first on the list of such ailments is fusarium wilting. The disease is seed-borne. And when conditions are created for its development, it immediately appears right there.

What does it look like? The first sign is that even with wet soil, the leaves lose their turgor and hang on the cucumber lashes like sluggish rags. At the same time, by the evening, the elasticity partially returns.

This is often the case in greenhouses. You can assume that the plants are hot and start watering them. But this is what exacerbates the situation even more, because humidity rises in the protected ground, and it would be better to ventilate the greenhouse. Therefore, before sowing cucumbers, the seeds must be pickled. And if fusarium is found in the beds, also treat the soil.

What to do if the enemy has already come to the beds and you need to save the cucumbers until the greens appear and the leaves with lashes have completely dried up? Trichoderma-based products will help. The same drugs save cucumbers from root rot. Phytosporin will also help out.

How often to handle trapped pets depends on the weather. If it rains - every 5 days. When there is no rain - once every 10 days. When spraying plants, the leaves should be treated from both sides - from the top and from the bottom. And when it rains, use this trick - add any adhesive to the healing solution so that the medicine is not washed off the plants.

If cucumber leaves have a tarnished reputation

Healthy cucumber leaves have an even rich green plate color. When spots appear on them, it's time to sound the alarm. This is the first signal that they are affected by a viral, bacterial and fungal infection. The latter is easier to deal with. But with bacterial, or even worse - viral, things are more serious.

If you notice that dark brown spots have appeared on the leaves, there is a bloom, the leaves dry out and curl - then there is a high probability that bacteriosis has settled in the beds. It can appear on plants at any time, even when the harvest is already ripe. Then the fruit will also become stained and soften.

Bacteriosis is fought with copper-based drugs. It is better to remove a diseased plant from the garden. And treat the soil with a 1% Bordeaux mixture so that the infection does not spread to neighboring crops. A week after the first treatment, repeat watering the beds with Bordeaux mixture.

The hardest thing to deal with is the cucumber mosaic. This is a viral disease that spreads through the garden with parasites. Therefore, it is so important to prevent the appearance of aphids on your site. And if found, immediately start fighting the uninvited guest.

The cucumber mosaic virus looks like chlorosis. However, iron chelate will not help here. The leaves are covered with yellowish spots, the fruits are bent, their taste deteriorates. Not amenable to treatment. You will have to get rid of such plants.

Another thing is the yellow spots of peronosporosis. This is already a fungal disease and you can fight with it for the harvest. At the same time, it is worth treating the beds not only for disease, but also for pests, which very quickly occupy areas with sick vegetables.
