Secrets of the Human "Temple"

Admiring the structure of the human body, people compare it with a sacred temple, so masterly and harmoniously everything in it is organized. But acquaintance with one's own temple is often postponed "for later", because the surrounding beauty of the earthly expanses beckons a person into the distance, carries away the search for new lands and new life adventures. People often remember about their own "temple" when something starts to work out of place in it, violating the general harmony, giving rise to inconvenience, pain and despair.

Of course, in all ages there have been people who study the human body. But knowledge about the structure and work of the organs of the human body lagged far behind the knowledge about the earthly expanses. New continents and islands were "opening up", but the role of the islets of Langerans, which are the endocrine part of the pancreas, was discovered by scientists only in the twentieth century.

Organs, which physiologists called "glands", secreted their "products" outside, thereby demonstrating their work, their role in the body. Thus, the mammary glands fed the newborns with their milk; lacrimal glands gave out streams of salty tears, relieving the nervous system.

But there were organs in the human body, which by their appearance asked for the name "glands", but did not give birth to any "products" outside. They were even classified as "extra" organs left by evolution by mistake. But, if such an "extra" organ was accidentally removed during the operation together with the diseased organ, then chaos settled in the human body.

Only the technologies of the past, the twentieth century, have discovered the riddle of such "unworthy" behavior of the glands, which were called endocrine glands or endocrine glands. They once again showed that real hard workers do not boast of the achievements of their labor, demonstrating them at every step, but work unnoticed for others, doing very responsible and necessary work.

Omnipresent and Tireless Hormones

The result of the activity of the endocrine glands is hormones, a very fashionable word today. They penetrate anywhere in the body, carrying energy to the cells, supporting life in the "temple". Without hormones, the temple falls into ruins.

Let's go back to the islets of Langerance. These small organs do the most important work that cannot be seen with the naked eye. They give birth to a hormone called "insulin" (translated from Latin means "island"). Without its presence, almost all organs will not be able to process glucose that comes with food and is the main carbohydrate that provides the human body with vital energy.

The cause of the disease

When there is not enough insulin in the body, glucose alone cannot be converted into energy, but ballast accumulates in the blood and urine. This condition of a person is called the disease "diabetes mellitus". As a result, the general metabolism is disturbed, and a person, having no source of energy, slowly fades away.

Plant help

To date, an effective treatment has not yet been found that eliminates the reason why the islets of Langerans stop producing the hormone "insulin". Helping patients is aimed at eliminating the effect, that is, at the artificial introduction of insulin into the body to maintain carbohydrate metabolism.
