Tomato white spot, also called septoria blight, is most commonly seen when grown outdoors. Especially beneficial for the development of this ailment is the increased moisture content of the soil. Greenhouses with greenhouses, as well as young seedlings, do not bypass white spotting, appearing on them in the form of isolated lesions. In order not to be left without a crop, it is important to identify the presence of the disease in time and start treating it
A few words about the disease
In case of septoria disease, on the lower leaves of a tomato (including the leaves of seedlings), the formation of isolated spots of an off-white color, framed by a dark border, begins. And inside these spots, black spores appear. Gradually, all the spots grow.
In the event of a massive defeat by septoria, not only tomato leaves are damaged, but also petioles with stalks, and sometimes the disease even reaches tiny green tomatoes. The affected leaves often curl up, after which they slowly die off.
As a rule, white spot is present on tomatoes during the entire period of their growth, especially in mature bushes. And the size of the lesions on the leaves directly depends on the resistance of various varieties of this culture to fungal diseases. If immunized or resistant varieties or hybrid forms of plants were chosen for planting, then if spots characteristic of white spot appear on the leaves, they will be very small, and fungal pycnidia will rarely form on them.
White spot fungi usually overwinter in the soil in plant debris. To an enormous extent, the rapid spread of this scourge is facilitated by heat (over 25 degrees) and high humidity. White spot spreads through spores of the pathogenic fungus through plant debris and infected planting material, and it can be transferred to other plants with the help of rain, wind, hands and garden tools.
How to fight
When growing tomatoes, you must strictly follow all the rules for growing this crop. Before sowing, seeds should be treated properly in a solution of potassium permanganate, and then rinsed thoroughly in water. Compliance with the rules of crop rotation will be no less important - in the same place, tomatoes are usually not planted for three years. It is imperative to observe the spatial isolation between the planted tomatoes and other nightshade crops.
Unfortunately, at the moment there are no varieties of tomatoes that have one hundred percent immunity from white spot. We can only note the hybrids and varieties that are struck by this ailment to a lesser extent: Joker, Odeta, Amino, Ballada, Shasta, Platus F1, Medi, Mondial, Worthy F1, Golden Fleece F1, Divo F1, Horeb and Beryl F1.
Severely damaged vegetation must be removed from greenhouses or garden beds in a timely manner. Greenhouses with greenhouses must be systematically ventilated. It is important for them to take the land only from those plots on which tomatoes have not been grown for a three-year period. A greenhouse mixture disinfected or prepared in self-warming heaps is a good choice for this purpose. And after harvesting, all plant residues are also removed.
When the first symptoms of septoria are found unexpectedly, the tomatoes are sprayed with fungicides - the first spraying is carried out a couple of weeks before planting the seedlings in the ground, and then such spraying should be repeated every 12 to 14 days.
Prophylactic spraying with chemical agents will also serve well: 0.4% suspension of 80% cineb, 0.3% suspension of 90% copper oxychloride or 1% solution of Bordeaux liquid. Chemical treatment of the grown seedlings is also carried out at least a couple of weeks before planting.

White Spot Of Gooseberry And Currant Leaves
White spot, otherwise called septoria, actively attacks gooseberries with currants in the summer. Red currant is affected by such an unpleasant ailment to a lesser extent compared to black. The harmfulness of septoria is quite high, especially in the southern regions - dead tissue on infected leaves often reaches 20 - 50% of their total surface. This disease, in addition to the massive drying of the leaves, also causes their premature fall. And for sick shoots, it is characteristic
White Spot Of Strawberry Leaves
White spot, or septoria leaves of strawberries, significantly weakens the vegetation and significantly reduces its winter hardiness. Especially strongly this disease attacks plants with strongly thickened strawberry plantings. And it is distributed almost everywhere where this wonderful fragrant berry is grown. Usually the first signs of septoria appear in the spring, closer to mid-May
Ring Spot Of Tomato
Ring spot affects not only tomatoes - other crops often suffer from it: decorative, fruit and vegetable. You can find the ill-fated ailment on cucumbers, currants, raspberries, pumpkins, strawberries, tobacco, watermelons, grapes, zucchini, melon, as well as hydrangeas and roses. Many indoor plants are no exception - pelargonium, gloxinia and orchids can also be affected by this harmful scourge. By the way, it can attack plants throughout the growing season
White Spot Of Raspberry Leaves
White spot, or septoria, affects not only raspberries (both cultural and wild varieties), but also blackberries. As a rule, the first signs of a harmful misfortune can be seen on the leaves by mid-May, and the peak of the development of white spot usually occurs at the stage of berry ripening. To a large extent, the development of this ailment is facilitated by moderate temperatures in combination with abundant rainfall (mainly spring). White spot especially affects old leaves
Black Bacterial Spot Of Tomato
Black bacterial spot of tomato especially attacks young plants. This disease is incredibly harmful in years differing in hot summers - in this situation, about 20% of the fruits and about 50% of seedlings are often affected. Typically, the aerial parts of developing tomatoes suffer from bacterial black spot. The consequence of such a defeat is either a complete lack of tomato harvest, or, if it is harvested, its very low quality
