Finally, you have your own six to ten or thirty acres of land, on which you need to place so much, which you have dreamed of for several years. Of course, the more acres, the easier it is to carry out everything conceived. But even on six hundred square meters, you can fit a lot if you cope with the pleasant excitement and think over everything clearly, depicting everything that was conceived first on a sheet of paper. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the surrounding natural conditions in order to avoid unnecessary mistakes
Detailed site plan
So you want a cozy and roomy house to grow on the site; an economic block, because a person cannot do without a toilet, shower, garage for his "iron horse", and also really want to have a summer kitchen and a barn for tools and many other purposes. In our capricious and unpredictable climate, a greenhouse will help out, and we also need a place for a flower garden, vegetable beds, and an orchard. Leave a place for recreation and a playground, a swimming pool or a small natural reservoir.
Thoughts and dreams overwhelm my head. Stop! We take a sheet of paper and draw a plan of what we already have. Knowing the length and width of the site, we transfer them to the sheet in the scale we have chosen. We mark where the north and south, east and west are located. We indicate the entrance to the site; the place where the house and the household block will be; existing large trees and shrubs. As we have already noted in the "Commandments of the Summer Resident", do not rush to get rid of already growing trees. After all, it is easy and quick to cut down, and growing a new one is much more difficult. It is better to try to use them to decorate a place for recreation or a playground.
An example of calculating the area of individual zones
Let's try to plan our six acres. If your site is larger, then you can increase the zones in direct proportion, or increase individual zones to your liking. Six acres is 600 square meters. Let's distribute them as follows:
• We will give 50 square meters for buildings;
• 50 square meters will be occupied by paths and playgrounds;
• We will define 300 square meters for garden trees;
• 60 square meters is enough for vegetable beds;
• 75 square meters will be occupied by a playground and a recreation area;
• We will allocate 40 square meters for the economic zone;
• We will leave 25 square meters for the cultivation of flower beds.
Ground water level
To determine the planting of plants, we need to know at what depth the groundwater is located. The choice of what and where we should plant will depend on the depth of their occurrence.
So, with a groundwater level above 1.5 meters, planted fruit and ornamental trees will not stay on the site for a long time. As their roots go deeper, trees will begin to die.
At a water level above 1 meter, berry bushes and ornamental perennials will not be able to take root.
With a high level of groundwater on the site, you will have to arrange drainage systems so that your work on planting a garden and flower beds is not wasted.
Site relief
If there is a relief difference on the site, then it is not at all necessary to try to level the entire territory. You can use the terracing system, or use the hill to build an alpine slide (which are also arranged on a heap of construction waste, so as not to waste energy on their removal from the site). At the base of the hill, you can arrange a small reservoir.
Direction of the wind
Knowing the direction of the prevailing winds, it is necessary to provide protection from them by arranging a hedge, a high solid fence, or placing any buildings in that part.
Soil composition
Since different plants require different soil, you should determine the composition of the soil on the site. There is a primitive, but quite suitable way of such a definition.
From the moist soil, roll out a "sausage" by hand, as housewives do, rolling out dough for the rolls. And then they make a "kalach" out of it. If the soil on the roll is not cracked, then you have clay soil. If small cracks appear on the roll, then the soil is heavy loamy. Large cracks indicate medium loamy soil, and a broken roll indicates light loamy soil.
It will not be possible to roll a "sausage" out of sandy and sandy loam soils at all.
Light spot movement
If you already have buildings and large trees, then you should observe the location of the shade from them during the day in order to correctly determine where to plant shade-loving plants, and where those that do not tolerate shade, or tolerate light shade.
Soil acidity
Soil acidity is a very important indicator for plant growth. Read more about acidity here:

Turning Sawdust Into Fertilizer
Almost all summer residents are well aware that it is categorically not recommended to make sawdust into the soil and it is definitely not worth expecting good harvests on such soil. This is especially true for fresh sawdust, because they often lead to excessive acidification of the soil, fungus can easily appear in them, and they also draw out a decent amount of nitrogen from the soil. But, nevertheless, sawdust can be an excellent component for improving air permeability (they are an excellent baking powder) and p

So That The Onion Set Does Not Go Into The Arrow
It would seem that it could be easier - I planted a set and got a large turnip onion. But this is not always the case … Either the onions do not grow, then the sevok goes into the arrow. Why is the planting material naughty? And the fact is that you need to please him before planting: store it correctly, and then thoroughly prepare for moving to the beds
New Is Old That Has Fallen Into Creative Hands
Sometimes city dwellers, who are little familiar with rural life or everyday life in a suburban area, do not understand why the owners of estates take away completely unusable old stuff to their dachas. And if it is still possible to justify the export of old newspapers and magazines to the dacha for heating the stove or turning into mulch, making compost, then why drag with you leaky boots, frayed clothes, chipped tires? As a rule, such rags are no longer used for their intended purpose. But in creative hands, she gets a bright new life
